Though it was the last thing she intended to do when she sent out a campaign newsletter, a Garland candidate for the Texas House now finds herself tangled up in a feud with William Shatner.
Brandy K. Chambers' online newsletter that went out Thursday featured a photo of herself with the Star Trek legend that was taken at a comic-con event.
The photo is under a write-up of what Chambers, a Democrat running to unseat Republican Angie Chen Button, says she stands for as a candidate, including being a proponent of LGBT rights and gun regulations. She also vows to be herself, regardless of what anyone thinks of her.

William Shatner is non-political and he was not happy the Democratic candidate used his image to imply he endorsed her.
It was inappropriate for her to do that. And celebrities do not like to be put in a situation where they might offend their fans.
Shatner got it taken down but it proves his point.
Success!
Bree K. Chambers got dressed down by Captain Kirk.
Saw her photo... not guilty. ;-)
Oops... I meant Brandy, Usually, you don’t see a Democrat apologize.
Hopefully, that’s a lesson learned.
Unlike most of hollyweird he is smart enough to keep his politics to himself.
Ya dont $h!t where you eat. There are a number of hollyweird stars I wont pay to see their work. ( the library eventually gets the Blu-Rays and if interested Ill watch it as part of my tax dollars)
I have a long and growing list of actors whose films I will never watch. Recently added was Robert De Niro who has shown himself to be an utter fool.
Stars who are conservative or at least not flaming lefts do have to be careful about who they cohort with. If they see someone claiming to be a chick, but with tatoos, mohawk, and piercings everywhere - best not to get in a picture with them.
‘She also vows to be herself an idiot’
albeit a smoking hot idiot...
Lesson learned? She more or less accused him of misogyny for not going along with the implied endorsement.
Believe it or not, but Shatner is pushing 90.
I do recall several instances where he threatened legal action against users who used his image....to quote "either you make a $500 donation to my charity or I talk to my lawyer" LOL
I just wont pay. Actors and musicians can supply people with an excellent art form. They explore the human condition without necessarily politicizing it.
Actors like Brando and DiNiro are fantastic actors but political morons.
I will not pay to see them. I will see them for free though.
Godfather 1&2 and Goodfellas are in the library of Congress for a reason. And older movies like this readily available for free.
Shatner is on tv again, a show called Better Late Than Never.
It’s Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, Henry Winkler, George Foreman and some young guy going to different cities and locations around the world, experiencing the local culture.
A Bucket List kind of show.
Pretty entertaining.
Good for Shatner for putting the rat in its place.
In another reply she added that she’s “sincerely sorry you don’t stand for women’s rights and education.”
So, in her twisted logic, because he doesn’t want his photo used in her campaign he doesn’t stand for women’s rights. Unfortunately many idiots will agree that makes perfect sense.
He made a great career out of being himself.
Holy crap....86 years old. I have to admit to you that I thought you were kidding so I looked it up. I was expecting to come back and say he is 70 but feels 90 like the rest of America.....lol.
