So from where is all this newfound interest in Arlington Countys sustainability bonafides coming? From Amazon.com, it seems.
The vast majority of the traffic to the page over the past week that can be tracked came from what appears to be an internal Amazon.com page devoted to its HQ2 search. Arlington, of course, is in the running as one of the potential landing spots for the companys second headquarters. No other page on ARLnow.com has a similar level of traffic coming from Amazon.
Last week a noted NYU professor who has written about the company opined that New York City and the D.C. area are among the most likely finalists for HQ2, due to a combination of being destinations for talented workers and being places that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos likes to frequent.

Amazon too cheap for VPN subscriptions apparently and too dumb to use them.
Better than Amazon coming to Texas!
I wouldn’t count Arlington in, or anywhere else out just yet.
Bezos is still shopping for a locale that will give him all the freebies.
Closer to do deeds for the Deep State and NWO.
Yeah, min wage Amazon salaries in Arlington area.
That’ll work.
Please, don’t let Amazon come to TX. It’s put more stress on our infrastructure, raised property taxes and bring more liberals.
If its big money, you have to be at the center of the empire.
Will the employees get free delivery of the Washington Post?
Thatll work.
The swamp will still need to eat after it's been drained.
Bezos owns the WaPo. Chances that the paper will will publish anything negative about Amazon? Absolute zero!
Also, I thought I read he owns a home in the Washington area.
Haha, minimum wage salaries, you say. What exactly do you think Amazon does? Seattle isn’t that much cheaper to live than the DC area, you know that, right?
“Closer to the people you want to bribe “
Well, yes, that, too.
I think he will choose a site closer to Dulles Airport in Loudoun County, northern Virginia. Lots of high tech industry HQs already(they also like being close to the hog trough), new tech infrastructure, and close to the airport, interstates, and (soon) a subway into DC. There’s also plenty of room to build whatever kind of campus he wants.
It’s already full of executive federal workers and contractors, so there are lots of high end goods shops and novelty businesses to keep his employees happy. NOVA is also considerably bluer than most of the rest of the state, almost as blue as DC, so there might be fewer mental conflicts for Bezos than some other places.
Arlington is nice but it’s commute hell. I hope Amazon picks somewhere that doesn’t sentence most of its lower and mid-level people to spending four hours a day in their cars.
It’s only natural that these quasi-fascist online behemoths would gravitate to Panem.
Lots of illegals in Arlington. Bezos probably wont have to worry about them organizing into a Union. At least for a few years.
