You can be bothered or you can turn the seat over to a Democrat.

We already had one blown seat because we wanted to play cute.

There are bigger fish to deal with.

Exactly.

These people acting all outraged are the same idiots that managed to put a Democrat in the Senate from Alabama.

Utah is a special case where the Mormons are not interested In participating in some effort in deposing their anointed brother mormon.

So suck it up and grab 2 Dem seats to counter-balance.

Mr. Trump thinks Aesop’s fable of the Scorpion and the Frog doesn’t apply to him. He’s wrong. Romney will fatally sting him at the first opportunity.

I doubt he thinks Mitt won't try to sting him, Trump has been quite savvy at handling those who cross him. Ted Cruz is a perfect example. I don't think Romney is the one that's capable of giving Trump any kind of fatal sting, though he will likely try. Trump has shown himself to be a far superior person at political maneuver than Mitt.

I think this is a case of keeping his friends close, and his enemies closer. It's Trump's way of keeping the contagion contained. Unfortunately, Mitt is going to win, so keep him as close as possible.

Why not make Mitt state he backs a wall an end to chain migration and the visa lottery before giving him that endorsement. H e will fight Trump every step of the way. Utah deserves someone who never lived in Boston a day in their life to be their senator.

Trump is a good enough man not to make an enemy of an ally.

I wouldn’t endorse to Romney to clean out pig swill, but that’s just me.

The Donald is shrewd. Probably has an angle figured out already.

There’s no real angle. Mitt, unfortunately, is a shoo-in. Therefore, it would serve absolutely NO purpose for Trump to oppose him.

This way, Mitt either feels all warm and cuddly and works with Trump (very unlikely), or looks like an ingrate if he attacks Trump (much more likely).

Holy moly, THAT picture is hilarious!

I can see Trump saying “RUN, BOY...RUN!” and Romney took that as an endorsement!!!!

It’s political reality. Romney will win that vote for religious reasons. It is obvious.

The power of senate majority is the power of judicial appointments.

We can’t ignore that.

[This shocks/surprises me.
Mitt said horrible things about him.
Trump is a forgiving man if he really means this endorsement.
A bit bothered about this]

Looks like PRESIDENT TRUMP is handling this the BIBLICAL WAY...

ISAIAH 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

I am guessing your post is probably as close to the truth as anything. Like another poster said, if you’re going to fight battles, it is best to pick them.

Mitt is likely the odds-on favorite to win that seat; Trump is making nice with him out of necessity.

I see no one has bothered to answer your quiz. We were just talking about the #1 quote the other day - saying “Remember when Hillary said that?” So we will say the answer is none of the above for all, all said by Hillary.

Bad News! Mittens is an enemy being sent in to destroy Trump and our movement. Mittens is a gopE globalist. He is NOT America first. He is a sneaky creep and a coward. Why the hell is Trump supporting him? He will oppose Trump at every turn. He will form a critical counter group like another little mini-presidency of never-trumpers and there are a lot of them in the Senate, to make sure nothing gets done. He and his group will support and encourage impeachment. He will kiss up to the MSM and be their darling. I normally support Trump’s decisions, figuring he knows what he is doing, but this endorsement is for a man who I despise, who wants to end everything we patriots have been able to build so far. He is worse then any current Trump enemy in Congress. He is a killshot coming from our enemies. I am very angry at Trump for this endorsement.

I get why he thinks this is the right thing to do, but it is the wrong thing to do.

I agree. He is probably trying to extend an olive branch, but Willard's response will result in him being the successor RINO backstabber to Juan McLame.

Newt Gingrich was on Fox this morning explaining that if Mitt Romney attracts the suburban voters and Donald Trump holds the blue collar voters then Republicans should have an absolute majority in governing.

Looking at the votes, state by state, and at more detailed layers in 2016, it makes sense. President Trump did worse than Candidate Romney in selective suburban areas. It sure would be nice to win in Virginia and Colorado again, while holding PA, WI, and MI. Perhaps pick off Nevada, Maine and Minnesota too.

Trump has to survive past the mid terms.

Getting the GOPe on board may be the only thing that keeps Trump out of impeachment hearings.

Which is why I fully expect Trump to go for a gun ban.
