As a result of the horrific Florida High School shootings orchestrated and executed by a clear sociopath, his actions has brought out the usual cadre of ant-gun fanatics bouncing like a shark in bloody waters on its victim, the 2nd Amendment.
An open debate may be a worthy enterprise but the consortium leftist media are steadfast resistant, if not intolerant to opinions not conforming to their preconceived outcomes.
America’s first President, George Washington is quoted saying; “A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their government.”
When leftist start classifying assault weapons as being a semi-automatic (AR-15), they are well down the road of eliminating all other semi-automatic weapons until Americans are left with a single shot or even a muzzle- loader. Like a plague of ravenous locust feasting on the American fields, these anti-gun zealots will continue their onslaught until the 2nd Amendment no longer exists.
Before you mandate our 2nd Amendment liberties away, think how fast our country has already started down the road to erasing away our guaranteed 1st and 4th Amendment rights today.
To analyze fairly the gun control debate, the public should review the recent FBI crime statistics on gun violence. Many readers would be shocked to learn that the national gun violence is down while the ownership of guns has greatly increased. A recent study showed that four times as many Americans are killed by knifes each year than by gun violence.
Why are the statistics for individuals saved utilizing a weapon for self defense? We know there are many but the public release of this information does not feed the narrative the left wants promoted.
Why is it that these mass shootings become politicized at each occurrence striking deep at the emotional strings of our citizens who are rightly aghast at the heinous crime? The assault weapon is not the Semi-auto but the assailant. He uses knives, vehicles, and weapons as his tool of choice to terrorize the public, yet we don't hear calls from the leftist for the removal of trucks from our highways or knifes from our kitchens.
The same groups of fanatics that advocate strong gun control legislation ignore completely the countless laws and regulations already on the books. They too ignore the over exuberant exploitation of gun violence as illustrated in products of Hollywood movies and in many video games our children purchase and play.
Why is it that these purveyors of righteousness on gun control are not scrutinized or held accountable for the blame of the promulgation in the desensitizing of human life?
The left in media, in Hollywood, and academia has pushed the boundaries of decency, violence, and death. Clearly, the left cannot escape that they have aided in the degradation of our culture, our value system, and the desensitizing of human life.
With no remorse or guilt, the radical progressives advance constantly and ardently advocating for the destruction of human life by the massive killing of millions of unborn babies through abortion.
Is there any wonder, sociopaths or other mentally challenge criminals have grown up void of human compassion when society accepts if not promotes the killing of our most innocent?
The gun control zealots contort their daily lives by "hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil" unless it is associated with a weapon. These groups blindly ignore other deadly statistics that should reverberate through their corridors.
Why give a blind eye to thousands of Americans dead each year, killed by a rapidly increasing drug epidemic pushed across our southern U.S. borders?
As emotional citizen caring leftists, why do they brazenly protest and decry on the highest alter of decency any sensible strategy to fund and erect a border wall to concretely reduce the flow of deadly drugs that are currently ravaging our inner cities?
Why do these emphatic stalwarts of compassion race to impede a border wall when so many Americans are murdered each year by MS13 illegal immigrant gangs or other illegal’s who by law should have been prevented from entering the country to start with instead of protected in leftist sanctuary cities?
Why is an America life devalued against an illegal immigrant until an event occurs that allows the left to attack the 2nd Amendment? Is this not hypocrisy on the highest order?
Why go after certain types of semi-automatic weapons from others when the weapon clearly is not the problem to our societal bankruptcy? Does the look and feel of a specific semi-auto weapon make it more lethal? Does the sociopath or terrorist decided to kill based on the love of the semi-automatic rifle?
Will changing the law to make AR-15an assault weapon reduced the attacks against civilians? The overarching goal of the sociopath or terrorist is to create a spotlight for himself or his issue and he will use various means to reach his desire goal to inflict the highest casualties and death toll possible.
The solution to reduce the high casualty crimes will not be triumphed by reclassifying semi-automatic to assault. There is no one solution but the weapon is not the perpetrator; it is the individual committing the crime.
What are some ways that may help?
Maybe, the leftist media would not hype 24/7 the deranged killer actions allowing him to achieve the fame and notoriety he so desires.
Maybe Hollywood will resist producing movies glorifying gun violence and minimizing death.
Maybe, they will cease publishing books exploiting and glorifying these demented souls.
Maybe we should not attempt to remove God from the public square or prevent the teaching of the 10 Commandments as our young develop their senses of right and wrong?
Maybe, maybe, maybe….
Yes, "maybe" is wishful thinking because leftist talking heads chasing cameras and newsrooms employ horrendous gun incidence as an opium to flare the public’s passions to gain their acquiesces to promote and accept their radicalized anti-gun narrative.
The end state for the left is to dramatize the anti-gun narrative as a political tool to increase the power over the American citizenry and do so, by perpetual control of government to achieve their socialist agenda.
History of the world clearly demonstrates the folly of the people to relinquish their weaponry to the dominion of government.
This was the eternal warning about the future our first President, George Washington, attempted to foretell why he was so adamant in his belief of the ability of American citizens to secure and protect their liberty through the use of the 2nd Amendment.
We will not become idle in our defense of our rights under the 2nd Amendment. Reality is plain in that a population of people possessing muzzle- loaded weapons cannot stand up to a tyrannical government, at least according to George Washington.

You can’t erase an amendment.
I live in conservative fly over country.I heard an estimate of guns in the United states at 300 million. I want to assure you that it is at least double that . The average family of 4 here has at least 10 guns. I live in a rural area and among my neighbors numbering 13 people I am aware of at least 40 guns including six .223 semi autos.
Can you blame them for whittling away? Re-establishing slavery is no simple matter!
The left wants the 2nd Amendment erased so they can kill us easier. I know, crazy theory right..if you read the disgusting comments they post on twitter on a daily basis you will see that I am right..they would put us all into ovens if they could..and as Hitler once said, the easiest way to control people is to DISARM them
You can’t legally “erase” the 2nd Amendment.
The only way to change the 2nd Amendment is through the constitutional amendment process. Otherwise, the 2nd Amendment stays intact and all attempts to ignore or violate the 2nd Amendment should be met with the full force of law.

But, c'mon. If there aren't some reasonable controls put in place, the restrictions that finally happen will take away gun ownership rights. Restricting assault weapons, background checks for all, having some stiff penalties for those who don't enforce laws already in place will all help.
At the same time, how about a serious study about the impact mind-altering legal drugs have had on those who commit these massacres? One can't help but suspect the pharmaceutical companies have something to do about that not being studied.
While this is the dream of the left, the near term point is to preserve the issue while having no interest in a true solution.
(least they by forced to reintroduce God into schools and the public sphere.)
