When Vonn tweeted her disappointment, Trump supporters were more than happy to bash her There are no participation trophies at the Winter Olympics, only medals. Nobody knows that better than Lindsey Vonn, who finished off the podium in the super-G on Saturday in South Korea. After the race was over, Vonn took to Twitter to express her frustration for the outcome of the race.
In response to the tweet, Vonn's timeline was filled with thousands of responses. The skiing star -- who has been critical of Donald Trump -- found user after user mocking her for the finish, with many referencing "karma" for her poor finish. In December, Vonn said that she was hoping to ski "for the people ... not the president" at the Winter Olympics, a comment that drew the ire of quite a few supporters of the president. Thank you for the correction.
I never wanted to know what any athlete’s politics might be. It is only because the Leftards try to force politics into every aspect of society that these issues arose. Now left leaning athletes (some) feel this compulsion to use their “public platform” (i.e., their renown and publicity that is based upon their ATHLETIC performance) to try to indoctrinate everyone with their views. People like Lindsey Vonn and LeBron James have no interest in any “conversation” with anyone who disagrees with them. No matter how often Leftards use terms like “national conversation” such Orwellian phrases really mean “you’d all damn well better agree with ME or else.....”

QUOTES AUTHORS ROBERT A. HEINLEIN
Robert A. Heinlein Quotes and Sayings
[T]here seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously-after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important ... so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth. -- Robert A. Heinlein
