Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich said the deadly school shooting on Wednesday should be a rallying moment for the nation on guns, but he predicted Congress would not live up to the task, and suggested the President should take the lead.
"Do I think they can do anything on guns? I hope they prove me wrong and they can because I have no confidence in them," Kasich said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."
"We need leadership out of the executive," he said. "This is a great opportunity for common sense steps that can be taken. ... Mr. President, I ask you to do this. You don't have to boil the ocean, but take some steps now."

Kasich the cuck seems like the type of man who enjoys watching other men make love to his wife.
“Was he eating a hot dog?”
No, Kasuck was busy stabbing an innocent pizza to death with a fork.
Anyway, this latest atrocity gives no ammo to gungrabbers as it is the result of massive incompetence by law enforcement from FBI on down, plus the failed mental health care system.
A few more we-must-do-something-about-guns outbursts & AR-15’s will be taking wing from dealers’ shelves once again.
Bills to “ban assault weapons” are already arising zombie-like from the ooze. But what does the word “ban” literally mean?
If logically applied, it means these weapons are such a deadly threat to society that they must all be rounded up and destroyed. Not just no new sales as in AWB ‘94, but as in “turn them in or become a felon!!”
This was done in Australia only because all guns were already registered & the police knew where to knock & whom to confront. Not often mentioned BTW is that large numbers of these guns are still in private Aussie hands. But confiscation is always preceded by registration, bottom line.
“Tough new registration laws” for semi-auto’s in CA, CT, NY, MA & now NJ have been nullified by 95% of owners who refuse to comply, often abetted by local law enforcement. Governors can either look ineffectual by turning a blind eye or announce mass arrests & foment shootouts with police or worse. So far, they choose not to enforce that particular gun law or make it a matter of secondary enforcement.
Now... those states could set up 1-800 snitch hotlines for busybodies to denounce `suspected’ owners of unregistered guns, just like false 911 calls are used to bring a SWAT team down on someone’s house. Unless there are harsh penalties for false calls, this could quickly spiral out of control. Even the Soviet KGB had to do away with `anonimki’ calls since most came from disgruntled neighbors settling scores.
“Never let a good crisis go to waste” seems to be a Democrat meme.
Taking “steps” is how we got to where we are now.
GFY Kasich!
I am all for common sense steps to reduce gun violence.
What are they, Governor?
THEN let the individual states make their own restrictions and watch the criminal shootings grow exponentially in the lieberal states which insist on 'gun-free' zones. Sewercago has some of the most restrictive gun laws and not surprisingly the highest murder by guns rate in the nation.
Thanks Innovative. Voters of Ohio need to take steps now to recall and remove John Kasich.
and the NFA
Yeah, we're kinda there already.
And in sewers like Broward County the NAACP has helped the liberal fools remove restrictions on ‘troubled students’. Sadly, the enemedia will not show the alignments of liberal foolery which give rise to these gun-free/slaughter infected zones. The media are the enemy inside the wire folks!
Take some steps’ on gun control............................... No problem, issue an executive order that every home owner and worker must arm themselves. “If you have a gun, you can keep the gun.” Give out a free pistol, like giving out cell phones.
This guy is the poster boy fordipshit.
The constitution is the law of the land. Congress can repeal the gun control laws of 1968 and 1935, and declare they will “special investigate” all who violate the constitutional rights of any citizen. They can than disolve the extra constitutional BATF. That should set the dems and their propagandists news media in a tizzy.
In a field of laughably lame hopefuls in 2016, Kasich stood out as particularly pathetic. So, his opinion matters, why?
I believe government and the idiots who are involved with it are never really concerned about true problem solving nor is government the answer to most problems especially this situation.
If the GOP caves on gun control they will see a blood bath in the fall. Gun owners will vote or not vote on this issue. This one is a deal breaker for me. Tread carefully GOPE...
It’s interesting that Kasich is a state governor but is telling the President to propose federal legislation against our Second Amendment. He must have quite the commie genteel class there in Ohio.
GOP politicians who support so much as a tiny, single ripple of anti-Second-Amendment legislation in any way will encounter the ends of their careers and reputations.
Step 1. Trump should EO Nation-wide Constitutional Carry.
Step 2. ... there is no step 2
