Jordan Peterson, Canadian clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at the University of Toronto, speaks with The Epoch Times about Postmodernism and Cultural Marxism.
Communism is estimated to have killed at least 100 million people, yet its crimes have not been fully compiled and its ideology still persists. The Epoch Times seeks to expose the history and beliefs of this movement, which has been a source of tyranny and destruction since it emerged.
Postmodernism is the scourge of civilization. It denies the existence of logic, reality and truth.
He is very much worth following on Youtube.
I’m glad Canada has someone to be proud of, and it’s not our poofster Prime Minister!
He gets it, although he is abstract in his words, at least in this video.
WOW! Well stated and presented. The Canadians are only ahead of us in their social evolution by the failure of HRC to get elected. DJT and the MAGA movement gives America the chance to stop/reset the clock.
I’ve studies the origins of our current predicament, and have distilled them down to six philosophies that were imported from Europe into the United States during the 60’s and 70’s. They are used by Cultural Marxists to encrypt virtually every fiber of the American mainstream fabric, with the goal of teasing it apart until the whole is indistinguishable from its constituent parts.
Most people don’t want to make the effort to understand the underpinnings of Cultural Marxism, preferring instead to deal with the symptoms of the disease rather than the disease itself. One can observe these infections everywhere in America today. They are:
Relativism: A philosophy which holds that the meaning and value of human beliefs have no absolute value or truth; that all truth is relative to the individual based on cognitive, racial, socioeconomic, cultural and experiential grounds; that all viewpoints are equally valid; and, relativism denies that any viewpoint is uniquely privileged over all others.
Egalitarianism: A pervasive trend in political, moral and ethical thought that stresses equality of outcomes, rather than equality of opportunities; that all people are equal in every respect; and, that hierarchies within human populations should never exist.
Secular Humanism: A religious worldview based on atheism, naturalism and ethical relativism as they pertain to theology, philosophy, ethics, biology, psychology, sociology, law, politics, economics and history. It is a philosophy that (a) regards the individual as the highest value; (b) considers the individual as the ultimate source of value; and, (c) is dedicated to fostering the individuals creative and moral development in a meaningful and rational way without reference to any concepts of the supernatural.
Post-Structuralism: Imported from France in the 1960s, and also referred to as deconstructionism, it is based on the proposition that the apparently real world is, in fact, a vast social construct and that the way to knowledge lies in taking apart in ones mind this thing that society has built. Taken to its logical conclusion, it supposes that there is, at the end of the day, no actual reality - just a series of appearances stitched together by social constructs into what we all agree to call reality. But, not agree voluntarily, for society has an oppressive structure, so we are pressured to agree to that version of reality, which pleases the people in charge.
Post-Structuralism rejects the notion of the essential quality of the dominant relation in the hierarchy, choosing rather to expose these relations and the dependency of the dominant term on its apparently subservient counterpart. The only way to properly understand these meanings is to deconstruct the assumptions and knowledge systems, which produce the illusion of singular meaning. This act of deconstruction illuminates how, for example, male can become female, how speech can become writing, right can become wrong, and how rational can become irrational.
Post-Modernism: Post-structuralism and deconstruction can be seen as the theoretical formulations of the post-modern condition. Modernity, which began intellectually with the Enlightenment, attempted to describe the world in rational, empirical and objective terms. It assumed that there was a truth to be uncovered, a way of obtaining answers to the questions posed by the human condition. Post-modernism does not exhibit this confidence, gone are the underlying certainties that reason promised. Reason itself is now seen as a particular historical form, as parochial in its own way, for example, as the ancient explanations of the universe in terms of Gods.
Nihilism: A philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. Nihilists generally assert that objective morality does not exist, so subsequently there is no objective moral value with which to logically prefer one action over another. Nihilists who argue that there is no objective morality may claim that existence has no intrinsic higher meaning or goal. They may also claim that there is no reasonable proof or argument for the existence of a higher creator, or posit that even if a higher creators exists, humanity has no moral obligation to worship it. Nihilism is often described in the context of accompanying conditions, for example, Narcissistic Nihilism.
Postmodernism, secular humanism, and marxism are the 3 main foundational worldviews of libtardism. All three are Godless and despise Christianity and the Bible.
This video is excellent.
Towards the end he makes some interesting practical points:
1) The pathological postmodernist movement is really only a small minority, though they have gotten their hands on the “steering wheel” of culture: Media, entertainment, education.
2) They are utterly incapable of debating on the merits, only believing in power.
3) When confronted, if they can’t get you to fall into a rhetorical trap, like admitting some obscure guilt, they run away and hide.
And one of the most practical points he makes is for us to have courage NOW to oppose post-modernism. Don’t wait and hope that it won’t affect you. It will only get stronger. Oppose post-modernism when it first is starting in your area and you may be able to beat it.
