Mitt Romney, after announcing his Republican bid for Senate in Utah, called for “action” following the Florida high school shooting that left 17 dead. Romney called the shooting “senseless, debased evil.” “I think we can’t just sit and wait and hope for things to get better,” the former GOP presidential candidate said, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. “It is wrong and unacceptable for children in our schools to fear for their lives.”

The guy will be a 71 year old in March. Two months into his term he will be a 72 year-old freshman (hair not-withstanding). There are better places to expend our limited resources than trying to stop him. The best bet is to make sure he doesn’t get traction as anything more than a back-bencher who will at least vote for our judges.
The guy doesn’t like to be shamed, and if acts as he did as gov of Massachusetts as Senator of Utah, he will be called out with credibility. He doesn’t have the McCain “I don’t give a crap” streak, so he can be kept at bay publicly. His real skullduggery will happen behind the scenes.

Mitt’s platform is advocating an assault weapons ban, abortion on demand, individual mandates on healthcare, gay marriage. At least he will get the Democrat vote.
Hopefully he’ll get a challenger in the primary who will defeat him.
