If you think there’s some magic, unicorn law that’s going to stop it from happening, just keep in mind that he violated probably dozens of laws already, including murdering people. That's against the law," Scalise, R-La., told Fox News host Laura Ingraham Thursday night.

“So, you know, this idea that one magic law is going to stop the next one from happening, it’s not,” Scalise said.

‘FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida’

On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.

Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.

We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said:

“We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.

“We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”

an 18 year old who posts specific mass school shooting murder fantasies on a public forum should not be able to walk into a pawn shop and buy an AR-15

We can do better

Starting with a rebuilt FBI that doesn’t have its collective heads up Hillarys Clinton’s .$$

As you see I've posted that.....

Could he have been stopped had they investigated further? I think not.....He'd already been dozens of times by the authorities and countless others and had broken no laws...and no record of doing so.

So the question still remains.....can the authorities stop someone without them breaking laws?..better could they have stopped THIS shooter?

I say no.....and if people think otherwise just how are you going to do that?...arrest him for no crime he's committed? Institutionalize him when he was already in specialized schooling? So just how?

And you too, are entitled to your opinion, but I will vote FOR any candidate that thinks this way. I guess we just cancelled out each others vote. But this is why I love this country.

By the way, there is mounting evidence that kids are staying infantile longer and longer, and living at home as dependents at increasingly older ages. AS SUCH, there is a strong case to be made for INCREASING the age of maturity for: voting, military service, drinking, driving, marriage, gun ownership, contracts, etc. This recent phenomenon should be on the table as well.

He did break the law, Federal law in fact. The penalty for death threats is five years in prison. He committed the crimes but was never arrested, prosecuted, and incarcerated.

Selectively enforcing the law is against the 14th Amendment.

Perhaps we should look into the cause of this, and rectify this issue, before we make even more drastic changes to society.

How about....you can't even TOUCH a firearm unless you are over 21 years old.

There's one of the stupider brain-farts I have ever heard. How about you think it over for a few seconds. If you can't figure out the stupidity for yourself, ask me.

I taught my kids to shoot when they were very small.

gang bangers get guns illegally or borrow them, and gang murders far exceed the murders committed via mass shootings.

Can you explain that a bit. Is this a Q reference. If so, I’m tracking, but it seemed like a non-sequitur.

Illegal gun trafficking is actually a separate issue and should be dealt with as such

Its dealing with protecting legal gun purchases and screening purchasers whose abuse of our freedomx jeopardize the rights of all that needs to be addressed

And not by obama- type politicized EO’s

And some people teach their kids to drive, drink and do weed ( not necessarily all at ince) when they are very small,

Found this on Gateway Pundit

“Two brothers who knew the suspected shooter and were present during the massacre at a Florida high school stated during an appearance on MSNBC that they did not believe gun control could have prevented the tragedy.”
