The bill sailed to house passage. The state senate is considering a similar bill.
One of the house bill sponsors wants year-round DST as a boost to tourism courtesy of later sunsets.
Enactment would require Congressional approval.
I would like to see the language of the bill as to how soon it would take effect should Congress approve the change.

In 2006 the whole of Indiana (finally fwiw) went on DST. In 2007 when the current clock changes took effect, IIRC one county in nw IN that was in the CTZ moved to the ETZ (or was it vice versa)? I'd like to know if that change sailed through Congress, to get a read on how Congress might treat FL's going all DST all the time.

remember how the networks almost pulled off stealing the election by announcing repeatedly the polls were all closed in Florida for an hour while they were still open there, and even many of them calling the state for Gore while they were still open there, which was proven to have severely depressed turnout in that part of the state during that last hour of polls being open. Had they not done that, all of that fiasco with the recounts of recounts, court battles, etc. would not have occurred as Bush would have won the state by several thousand more votes. Amazing how close they came to pulling it off. Yup, another great example of the RATs (not the Russians) "hacking" an election... and then pulling out all the stops to reverse the results of the vote.
What's going on now, with the "Russia collusion" investigation, happened then too.

Florida's mosquitoes (but especially no-see-ums) are waiting for you at dawn and dusk. Sounds like black fly season in Vermont (which comes after mud season).

Currently under DST we spring forward an hour in the spring, and fall back an hour in the fall.
Choose whichever you want, fall or winter, and turn your clock ahead one half hour in the spring, or turn you clock back a half hour in the fall.
Once adjusted, call it whatever you want, but don’t adjust it ever again.

Lived in California (day light savings time) and the past five in Arizona (no DST).
I vote yes: eliminate DST.
My personal theory is that in the hot Arizona summers it's much nicer when the sun goes down, even if the thermometer stays high.
So we in the AZ deserts want the sun to set earlier and thus like NO DST....:^)

It's a step closer. The FL Senate approved the year round DST bill today.

If Congress votes no, look for a lawsuit by FL over this, no? Tenth Amendment, much?
