Wild conspiracy theories have a way of seeping into public discourse these days, thanks in part to the divided nature of U.S. politics, the growth of websites that actively promote them, such as InfoWars, and the capacity for fake news to spread virally on social media without any fact-checking or oversight.
Enter Q.
In late October, just days before a different InfoWars-inflated conspiracyabout anti-fascist protesters plotting a civil warwas about to fizzle, a user identified as Q on the imageboard website 4chan started posting vague, portentous messages related to an approaching storm. The user claimed to be a high-level government operative, and the folks on /pol/, a subsection of 4chan with a history of spreading fake news, took noticewith some even believing it was President Donald Trump himself who was posting the messages on 4chan and on a similar website, 8chan. The Q internet posts began appearing three weeks after Trumps cryptic remark about the storm. The anonymous user would ask questions referring to the idea that Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and George Soros could potentially be arrested or detained, and would make random claims such as: This has nothing to do with Russia (yet), apparently referring to his own internet writings. People started cobbling together the posts and reporting them to one another as clues in what they saw as a larger puzzle. One phrase that gets bandied about a lot on #Qanon threads is Follow the white rabbit, referring to the turn of phrase used in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and the 1999 film The Matrix, which has been mined for allusions by Trump supporters since he launched his campaign back in 2015.

It makes you wonder if Q had struck a cord. Otherwise, there would be no comments from rags like Newsweek. Remember, the left started the “Fake News” mantra to begin with and Trump managed to hijack it from them, thereby nullifying it...IMO. Q might be real, or not. But he/she does make you think.
Could be newsweek thinks if they deny Q, then Trump supporters will follow Q.
If Q is a deep state conspiracy, newsweek is likely in on it.
How obvious can they get.
This is AWESOME!!! ..Best red pill ever...its so hilarious how they keep playing right into Trumps traps
No, they lost value...................
BS Content aside, doesn’t it seem like a special kind of stupid to be declaring what the top stories of 2018 are after just 6 weeks?
Really? I mean really, you have a point.
I didn’t know what to think of the whole Q thing, but if Newsweak is calling it fake I suspect there must be more to it than i thought.
Q has dropped a significant dime on someone?
You have a point too.
Well, the wind has been starting to kick up a bit....
Or it could be that Q is revealing RAT treachery.
When asked to name one instance in which something posted by Q came true, Corsi said he couldnt do that without referring to his notes. You'd think a defining prediction would be at the top of this mind. Q can read "War and Peace" in a bowl of alphabet soup. Some kid in his mom's basement is having a ton of fun with the gullible.
Talk about a rough day.
I bought a copy of Newsweek and left it in my car in the parking lot at work.
When I got off work, I found my car had been vandalized. The driver’s window was smashed with something like a rock or a hammer. Broken glass was everywhere, inside and out.
Worst of all, the vandal left 5 additional copies of Newsweek in my car.
Insurance will fix the window. I’m still trying to recover, emotionally from all the copies of Newsweek.
Hey Newsweek. You got the wrong Q. You need to target those of us over here - the real conspiracy nuts. Can we get some free press.
@Z Real Q
#fakeQanon #ZrealQ
I think Q gets all his info from FR.
The Leftists elites are experts at covering their tracks and keeping their followers ardent believers. But I think Q has them scurrying.
I dont think Q ever claimed to be a government operative. Newsweek is trying lump him with Trump.
It's Newsweek trying to downplay some very real Deep State scandals, by associating it with the not-so-real reputation of Q.
