FBI Director James Comey held a secret Oval Office meeting with President Barack Obama two weeks before Trump’s inauguration and may have deliberately misled Congress about it, according to an email sent by National Security Advisor Susan Rice that GOP Sens. Interesting take . . . I like it when people go out on the limb with some game-changing thinking...nonetheless, here is why it won’t work ...
1) Who among regular, rank and file voters would really believe a proglib is pro-country, hard border, anti-illegal alien? Because...
2) ...such a person can’t get the party’s nomination in the next 4 - 8 years. But let’s assume he does, all those that had to be removed to clean the Dem’s house will not vote for him in the general. But if Roy Moore were the Repub presidential nominee, the Dem might win despite the tossed out of the party Dems. Roy Moore ain’t going to happen.
3) Who currently has the money in the Dem party? Old or aging leftists. $ would dry up if their leftist policies are not embraced.
Now to your other points:
1) Reagan ran against Carter who was doomed by the economy, malaise, and Iran. Sharing that he talked to Amy about important national decisions he had to make did not help. Carter tried the old playbook - “Can’t trust Reagan with a finger on the nuclear button.” It did not work. Reagan ran on economy, pro-America, strong defense.
2) Trump brought his own bag of cash to the primaries, beholden to no one. If he had to rely on outside cash, would he have gotten the nomination?
3) Trump took major positions on “illegal immigration” that were supposed to be the death-knell of any candidate of any party. He got more cross over voters as a result.
4) The GOPe were too slow or too stupid to recognize many of their voters left them; Trump saved them.
5) Until the tax cut bill was passed, Trump had a lot of the DC Repubs still working against him. It may still be the case. Trump is more an Independent than a Rep.
6) Trump twice divorced, thrice married ... morality in US is different . . Reagan first divorced and remarried and it was an issue. Bill Clinton was (fill in the blanks). If the 2016 morality was of 1976 era, Trump would not have been elected - the divorce, post-sex revolution and Bill Clinton helped make this possible for Trump.
7) I will agree, anything is possible in politics. Timing and luck (and even scandal) can happen at the right moment - Perot showing up got Clinton elected.
If "Q" is a reference to eQuador, then "Q" could be Assange, although there seems to *also* be some junior level staffer on the outer portion of the inner White House ring who is passing along some passerby info to "Q" that is being used/released.

Well, you can wager now on the over/under days until the alphabets leak a deep cover story for this meeting, because that man will not permit any 2020 primary challenger (or general election incumbent!) to use this meeting against him...
No way. The unanswered questions raised by the meeting - as it stands right now - throws Biden under the bus just by virtue of participation and gives every chance to a 2020 primary challenger (particularly a non-Beltway progressive like Karamela) to use it as a wedge issue.
No, if it didn't happen, Rice would have excluded Biden, as he didn't need a cover story. Now, he does.
Also note that the Senate holds all the cards now with their memo (supported by direct and mostly perjured testimony); and Biden was a senior Senator to both Grassley and Graham.
Now we see how far the supposed comity (or is it Comety) of the Senate really goes...

No. Reagan was hated by the GOP if you remember. Reagan won BECAUSE of Watergate as much as anaythng else. He was a loud proponent of principles at a time when no of the others were and Watergate was as much as what Reagan was reacting to and people resonated with as anything.
