SD 54 is close

Damn..our side needs to come out on these elections. Too complacent.
We’re told there is a Blue Wave in the making going to lead to a Democratic takeover of the House.
MN results suggest it’ll be a wash, which helps the GOP.
Not what Democrats were looking for in a Blue State stronghold.
I’d estimate less than 20% total turnout in these races.
SD54 was held by a Dem prior to tonight. If GOP wins, its actually a pickup. 23B was held by GOP. It doesnt even look close there.
FYI....(I didn’t see a PA SE thread to post this on)....
Trump to hold rally in Pennsylvania ahead of special election
IOW, the Hate Trump vote is exaggerated.
And all politics are local - 1994 and 2006 being the exceptions to the rule.
I am concerned a bout that MN Senate seat.
With Dayton appointing Tin Smith to Franken’s open US Senate seat, Michele Fischbach became Lt. Governor by law. That took out a GOP Senator; and now this ties the MN senate.
Michelle may need to resign as Lt Governor and run again in a special election which she will win easily.
“Not what Democrats were looking for in a Blue State stronghold.”
Exactly. These results are not all that impressive (so far) for the Democrats.
Sorry to hear that neither former Governor Pawlenty nor former Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann have decided to step up in Minnesota to challenge either Dayton or his former Lt. Governor Smith who he selected to replace Franken.
Flipping Minnesota red would be a real game-changer, indeed!!!
Please read my post #10.
It is impossible to judge anything from SD54. A third of the Precincts Reporting and only 3,200 people voted. Trying to draw a national outlook from at most 20,000 votes would be insane even for the media.
Oh they are going to try to do it. Theyve been doing it all year.
Yup.
Its important to note there are few genuine swing districts left. They typically favor one or the other party.
Whether Democrats will be energized by Trump in the fall remains to be seen.
That’s weird.....the # of precinct reporting is going up but the vote count remains the same.
well lets do this!
Results of elections should be computed in minutes not hours. How can we continue to use such half-a$$ technology?
