Presideny Trump on Monday unveiled his budget proposal for the 2019 fiscal year, which makes significant cuts to some federal agencies and projects as part of an effort to slash the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next 10 years.
As part of that effort, Trump has proposed eliminating funding for several agencies, grant programs and institutes.
While lawmakers are unlikely to enact most of Trump's proposal, heres a look at some of the centers and agencies the White House wants to abolish.

17. The National Endowment for the Arts, which funds American artists and projects with grants.
The local sewer plant, known as NBC affiliate news said it pushes a 1 Trillion dollar deficit out every year. What is the truth?
I think I could consider keeping not more than two or three of those 22 agencies. Its mostly just graft ripoff and waste imho.
16. The Legal Services Corporation, a nonprofit that provides civil legal assistance for low-income individuals. YES!! About time!!! This agency actually sued congress to remain in existence. Somebody has answered some prayers. But don’t celebrate yet until it happens and the doors to all these agencies are closed and offices vacated and sold.
A good start.
It would be nice to see how much each of these would save. It all adds up!
Back in the 1980’s my lawyer and I attended an SBA, Small Business Administration, conference held in Atlanta. It was a three day affair intended to help us get complete a business plan and get financing. I think we were the only white people there. We were treated very badly. When I got back to Tampa I went to our advisor at the SBA. He blushed, looked around to make sure nobody could overhear and quietly said, “Look, I’m sorry. This program is only for black people.”
Legal Services Corporation .... lol waiting for the exploding heads in Liberal Land
Make it 44.
EXACTLY
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. - list of grievances; Declaration
Just about all of them were in Trump’s 2017 Budget plan as well, yet here they are still.
Can you hear the sound of Dems Heads exploding ?
I bet there are another 322 agencies or programs we could eliminate, to good effect. I went through just one states government phone book and found over 200 superfluous offices or bureaus. And washDC is a far larger swamp!
Wheres the Consumer Protection Agency?
None of these agencies are even remotely a responsibility of the Federal Government.
I think the cross in a jar of pee was one of theirs, meaning ours.
19. The Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, which funds community development projects nationwide.
20. The Denali Commission, the Delta Regional Authority and the Northern Border Regional Commission, which fund infrastructure and economic projects in specified areas.
Both of these and a couple others should have a picture of either a fat pig at a trough or a fat sow with ten piglets attached to her teats on their agency paperwork and as part of their official seal.
Every President since Reagan has tried to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in the budget.
It will never happen since nearly all the agencies and programs affected have voters behind them and congresscritters willing to fund their continued existence.
The reason Big Government is never going to disappear has nothing to do with Trump.
8. The Advanced Research Projects Agency, which provides support for Energy Department projects.
This is the only one on the list that I would keep or merge with something being kept. Even here, I would reduce ARPA’s budget. We are $20T in debt. We cannot keep everything, not even everything good.
