Barack and Michelle Obama’s official portraits were unveiled at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery on Monday morning.
The former president’s portrait was painted by artist Kehinde Wiley, and the former First Lady chose Baltimore artist Amy Sherald for hers. Wiley and Sherald are the first two African-American artists to ever be commissioned to paint presidential portraits for the museum.

These portraits will undoubtedly hang somewhere with all the others of like status and the two portraits will stand out like a sore thumb. It is a big f**k you to all the other portraits and American culture.
Seeing them together in your post, I note that if you had to choose the subject who had a white parent, you’d pick Mooch. They de-Africanized her features to quite the extent. “Say it loud!”

Why would any sane person wear a nice white dress in a rowboat with 2 dogs? What was the artist thinking? Maybe some day when the truth is learned, these two portraits with be thrown out in spite of the burning city riots. Love the manly portrait of Obama, it showS so much strength and fortitude of a great leader! (LOL, LOL, LOL!!!) Amerika, you have totally lost it, we ARE doomed, and there is nothing Trump can do to stop it.

That’s what they tell the Obamas and they believe every word of it. How will the Obamas ever know how bad the portraits are. No one in their circle would dare say anything. Obama had a lot of nerve showing up there after all that has been found out about what he did.
What’s with his hand? No thumb and the wrist goes halfway across his body. Did they owe a Brother a favor?
When was Mooch ever in a flat bottom row boat? Right.
I hate to admit that I kind of like that one.
Regardless of the subject matter, the artist has some real talent.
