Barack and Michelle Obama's portraits unveiled at Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery
Text of excerpt:
Barack and Michelle Obamas official portraits were unveiled at the Smithsonians National Portrait Gallery on Monday morning.
The former presidents portrait was painted by artist Kehinde Wiley, and the former First Lady chose Baltimore artist Amy Sherald for hers. Wiley and Sherald are the first two African-American artists to ever be commissioned to paint presidential portraits for the museum.

Please look at the two unretouched portraits as depicted in this article. The picture shows both Obolas beside their portraits in proper, normal contrast that, by comparison with the paintings, shows both paintings to be horribly done, with each profoundly lacking in contrast.
Then take a look at CNN's reproduction of both paintings, shown here:
http://www.cnn.com/2018/02/12/politics/obama-portrait-unveiling/index.html
Neither is shown beside the Obolas as the portraits were unveiled, a showing that would have revealed the horrible lack of contrast. Instead, each is given a free standing showing and appears to have the proper level of contrast, something that probably resulted from CNN electronically adding the contrast to make them look better.

LOL! Looks like a student did them with a photo projection.
Both sets are bad. The CNN gloss didn’t help the fundamental weaknesses very much.

re: Barry's picture
At first glance, it reminded me of the tipsy dream sequence of Dorothy in a field of poppies in Wizard of Oz.

100 years from now Americans will look at these and understand the shallowness, pretentiousness, and sheer ugliness of the 0bama administration embodied on canvas by Identity Artists. Fourth-grade art students will laugh.

Who was the lady that refurbished that 1400 year old portrait of Jesus? I would give her $200 to commission a brand new portrait of them.

Obama looks like the delicate flower that he is. However, Michelle does not look at all like Michelle (which is not a bad thing).
