Jenye Viki Knox served Union High School since 2000 as a teacher and faculty adviser for the students Bible study group. She began teaching handicapped students 28 years ago.
An ordained minister, Knox communicated her opinion openly on social media.
In 2013, Knox sued the district for violating her right to free speech and her right to the free expression of her religion. She wanted her job back with back pay and the admission that she was within her rights under the Constitution to express her views on Facebook.
The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey admitted that though they did not approve of Knoxs Christian beliefs, her beliefs and comments are protected by the First Amendment.
Eventually, the schoolteacher reached a confidential settlement on the tenure issue. The board used that against her, arguing her lawsuit was moot because she settled on the tenure issue, but in 2015 U.S. District Court Judge Kevin McNulty allowed her suit to go forward.

A friend that taught in a black public school here in NJ described how they were so below the radar they still used words like “Christmas” in class without any consequences. In this case, while the teacher is black I don’t believe the district itself (Union, NJ) is - I believe it is mixed.
Really???
Gay Mafia trumps black skin.
This is no longer the “Land of the Free.”
Their religion knocks them way down in the grievance hierarchy, at or near near the bottom. I think anyone in a culture or community which values self-reliance and/or personal responsibility is severely frowned upon.
I’m white. Homosexuality is a sin
If only she had said Jesus would have supported Black Lives Matters or some other lib nonsense. They’d be creating statues of her.
In God’s words, homosexuality is not just a sin, it’s an abomination. There. I’d rather be hated by this world for saying it than hated by God for not.
Blacks are near the bottom of favorites of DemocRats because they can make vague promises yet never actually deliver and still get their votes. Their favorites are 1) illegal aliens 2) Muslim “refugees” 3)Muslim immigrants, 4) gays and “transgendered”, and then somewhere down there are blacks.
Blacks have a bigger problem with homosexuality than whites. Must be the fear that they may like it. Either that or civil rights encroachment. Still, 3 years? Come on!
“The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey admitted that though they did not approve of Knoxs Christian beliefs,”
Why the disclaimer? Stick to factual finding. This entire intro phrase in the sentence is superfluous and only there to reaffirm their standing among the left.
We all know the state of our society.
And it’s not good and getting worse.
This is just another example.
And what else is new. It is a constant struggle with the forces of evil and their interminable litany of lies and deceit.
Accept Him into your life. This, too, will be to your advantage.
Note to Hillary, et al. Lying is an abomination before God, as well. As long as you are breathing, you have a chance to repent of your sins. Once you stop breathing, decision time is over.
Got that right. We just about live now in one giant re-education camp/gulag.
Clearly there is a pecking order of preferred minorities in this country right now - gays must be at or near the top.....
"...bottom of favorites..."
If the three year suspension is without pay = Being fired, for all intents and purposes.
[[its an abomination.]]
There is no stronger word to describe the sin of homosexuality- Abomination is as low and heinous as one can get- it’s such a direct violation of God’s intended purpose for the different sexes that when one practices the sin- they do so in direct violation of God’s law- it’s a fist i nthe face of God Telling Gos that He has no right to demand that they obey His word-
Abomination: intense aversion or loathing; detestation:
God is VERY serious about this- sadly many are going to learn that the hard way
Apparently she got a settlement, but so what? The money is beside the point. This woman’s plight confirms what I feared all along about a society nourished almost solely by social media — namely, to practice the right to free speech, a person is compelled to remain anonymous to avoid persecution (or prosecution). Which effectively means there is no personal speech any longer - only approved speech codes handed down by the Orwellian masters (and yes, I am using the word “masters” to invoke a specific historical image).
Conform or else: that’s the warning from the “diversity” crowd.
