Students, parents and staff at C.K. McClatchy High School are upset over a science fair project by a student in its elite magnet program that questioned whether certain races of people lack the intelligence to handle the programs academically challenging coursework.

In the United States, the notion of a racial tie to intelligence gained notoriety with The Bell Curve. The 1994 book by political scientist Charles Murray brought the idea into the national consciousness, though it has been widely criticized by mainstream scientists.
Odd isn’t it, “criticized” and not dis-proven?
“Arguing along race lines like this is actually racist. “
The word “racist” is not a negative. It is used by those not willing to look at facts when the facts are along lines of race.
“I wonder if white ANTIFA anarchists are genetically distinguishable from white honor students or entrepreneurs.”
I would expect they are. Next question.
Last time I checked no African nations engaged in a war that literally turned most of the continent into ashes....Maybe because they have yet to come out of the Bronze Age?
Clean project. Well stated hypothesis, controlled for internal and external threats to validity and pointed out how to improve external threats in future similar projects. The kid will probably not be able to get a job wrapping Christmas packages at Pennys.
I dunno. You?

For what it is worth, last week I watched the movie Hidden Figures. I watched it primarily as entertainment and had and still have some skepticism on the accuracy of what the movie portrayed understanding that movies often use literary license and such to tell a story that is not always accurate and also to the extent of the contributions these women actually made to the space program, so I did some objective research.
But Katherine Johnson really was a math prodigy from a very young age. And John Glenn actually did request that Johnson specifically check and confirm trajectories and entry points that the IBM spat out.
And Mary Jackson graduated with dual degrees in math and physical science and was hired to work at Langley in 1951. After several years as a computer, Jackson took an assignment in assisting senior aeronautical research engineer Kazimierz Czarnecki and he encouraged her to become an engineer herself. To do that, however, she needed to take after-work graduate courses held at segregated Hampton High School. Jackson petitioned the City of Hampton to be able to learn next to her white peers. She won, completed the courses, and was promoted to engineer in 1958, making her NASA's first African-American female engineerand, perhaps, the only one for much of her career.
And Dorothy Vaughan in 1948, became NACA's first black supervisor in computing and later, an early expert FORTRAN programming.
There is the amazing and inspirational story of Dr. Ben Carson.
If all those black people and others such as Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas are genetically inferior, how does one explain their success if not more that of nurture over nature. And FWIW, Ive come across quite a few stupid as sin white folks.
He probably slapped it together that morning. He needed something to turn in. If he really wanted to research the question he could have done much better.
Interestingly the high school is 41% Hispanic, 8% black, 15% Asian, 24% percent white. The rest are other or mixed. The program is overwhelmingly white and Asian. It’s open to all students in the Sacramento School District.
It’s a competitive program with an essay test and Standardized test and teacher recommendations used to rank the applicants for 140 spots for freshman year.
Why aren’t there more blacks and hispanics accepted? Is it lack of applicants or lack of ability? How many of each race applied? How many accepted?
“though it has been widely criticized by mainstream scientists.”
Same is said of glowbull warming: “Mainstream”, meaning “liberals”.
It’s a cultural phenomenon, not an inherent one.
“Several African nations had GDPs higher than Western nations in their early history until they became a huge proxy battlefield for the superpowers.”
Those GDPs, are we talking South Africa which was settled by the British until it is being destroyed now by blacks??
Of course we are. Whites move in, create a prosperous nation, blacks use the UN to take over and destroy what’s there.
They are still killing white farmers only to then starve because they don’t know how to farm.
Asian Americans are going to be more & more vocal on the subject of quotas for unqualified students.
My 11th grader attends a NYC elite and despite only a pure test entry exam; the tiny handful of negro & rican students are consistently at the bottom of the class. The chinamen are all at the top of the class. Whites are the middle
This is a classic example of how educrats have brainwashed generations of children. Did anyone reference “The Bell Curve?”
It'd be interesting to see what the other four sources were. If they were along the same lines as "The Essential Kafir" then that might explain his conclusions.
I do not agree with the following arguments. I am just making them for clarity.
The Bell Curve does not assert that there are no intelligent members of the black race, just that there are fewer of them.
Likewise, it does not assert that there are no stupid white people, just that there are fewer of them.
You are confusing looking at group as opposed to looking at individuals. For instance, as a group, Hispanics are likely to have brown eyes. That does not mean that all Hispanics have brown eyes, nor does it mean that people with brown eyes are necessarily Hispanic.
The Bell Curve asserts that - as a group - Blacks are less intelligent than Whites. By definition that is a “racist” statement, but that does not mean it is necessarily incorrect.
Not accepting the results of research based on your preconceptions is intentional ignorance. If you believe that their conclusion is incorrect, do the research yourself and prove them wrong.
That is how science works.
It’s not a nutty preconception when it occurs over and over again. Just take a look at the folks who make up the CBC. They very rarely are able speak properly when interviewed, one idiot thought Guam would “tip over” because of a redeployment of Marine and Navy personnel, and these people are supposed to be the best and brightest? Again, there are exceptions to every rule, but to say that pointing out the obvious is racist or rude? Sorry, I’ll disagree there.
“They did not know How to handle
Their weapons and did not
WANT TO LEARN.”
Che’s quote after fighting with
Congolese.
For what it’s worth.
That approach was tried extensive in the past and for many years. It was tried for police and fireman jobs, college admissions, law and medical school admissions, and other post grad schools, and in many other areas.
Not enough of the right people qualified taking the tests, so other methods had to be found.
