Enough court errors have occurred that this is deemed unconscionable itself. It is for God’s sake, not people’s, that we have such a circumspect legal system.
Absolutely absurd. That is cruel to everybody involved, the victims, the criminal and all the people of the state. Is the state philosophy "Spread the suffering as far as possible?"
You’re right.
And it was a hateful post that I regret typing.
Vengeance is up to God, not me.
You’re a regular modern day Good Ole Boy Socrates :)
that was a compliment :)
You might ask why the symbol of Christian faith is the cross, not the velvet pillow.
The people,of california have voted twice IIRC to retain the death penalty, but the government finds ways not to carry out the will of the people.
And the people continue to find ways to avoid making their will known to the government.
Goes for the rest of the states too.
Well, Christianity is hard. Like math is to Barbie.
If the USA was Buddhist it wouldn’t bother being so idealistic. As it is, it is quasi-Christian, with secular leftism trying to fill in for a large piece of the love of God that has gone into desuetude.
We have many states of affairs that we do not question, including the advent of an elite police. In an earlier time, a fellow like this would be likely to die in gunfire from private citizens proceeding under the 2nd Amendment in public.

California currently has 747 prisoners on death row.
Each prisoner spends 20+ years on death row.
Most develop health problems associated with old age: diabetes, heart problems and on.
According to the LA Times one of the problems is a lack of court appointed lawyers for appeals.
No lawyer wants to spend years working on an appeal case for what the state is willing to pay.
The criminals have figured out how to game the system and the families of their victims pay the price.
Surly there is an elevator shaft ion the building?
Just another beautiful illegal alien that the GOPe & Democrats adore. Nothing to see here. /sarcasm

Good assessment of things here.
I’d hang that oxygen pirate myself...and have no regrets.
He’s just basically a horrible person, he’s just evil.
My wife was in the courtroom today twice for case earlier in the day and then this guy at the end of the day and he’s been disruptive and taken out of the court room multiple times at the beginning of the trial they were having it the newspaper every day for the first 3 days then they cut that out.
Today as everybody exited the courtroom he got up in the shackles and he said that he’s going to murder more police and cops one last time.
It doesn’t make anybody feel any better that he was sentenced or convicted rather but at least he was convicted compared to the guy in San Francisco
You know, I’m a death penalty proponent, but spending the rest of your life in prison seems to me to be far harsher than execution. Yes, killing a murderer is a just process, and it might also be more humane, not that it makes any difference, except to the victims relatives.
We would be in the midst of the CRISIS level, but for Trump.
We do not want to get to the NORMALIZATION level.
Indeed.
He may not survive the prison guards, but cop killers are considered heroes in prison.
I’m an eye for an eye type.
You take a life, you forfeit your life.
I don’t mind someone sentenced to death getting an automatic appeal. ONCE.
This crap of a convicted killer spending 20+ years in prison before their execution is insane.
It cost money to house, feed and give healthcare to people whose crimes have been evil enough for them to be put to death.
Add in the costs for legal appeals and its outrageous.
Every extra day these monsters draw breath is a win for them and a loss for society.
