Richard Burr has to be the most worthless person currently in the Senate; he has done nothing but bow and scrape to Warner and the media. You would never know he was a Committee chairman and you would never guess this blob is a Republican.
Because Warner, Burr and Rubio are corrupt.

Apparently the disappearing texts don’t really disappear. Guess the senator should have stayed in a Holiday Inn......
They need to keep pressing on this for answers to those questions.

It looks like a screen capture. for instance, on an iPhone 8 or earlier, press and hold the Top or Side button. Immediately click the Home button, then release the Top or Side buttons.
Though why he did a screen capture escapes me.
The NSA may have them but most likely only in their encrypted form, which isn’t very useful. This “Signal” app is a point to point communication tool that doesn’t use MMS/SMS, it is a network application between two people. The contents are encrypted.
Unless the phone they’re using is compromised or the person at the other end does a screen capture (most likely) the NSA don’t have anything.
I work in finance. We are required by regulators to not use text, email, legally required to keep records readily available for 3 years, hard copies for 7....
Or would you?
