en. Marco Rubio (R-FL) dismissed a Fox News report that Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) tried to contact Christopher Steele, the author of the controversial Russian dossier.
The Florida senator said Warner had already fully disclosed his contacts and that they had zero impact on the Intelligence Committees work.
Sen.Warner fully disclosed this to the committee four months ago.Has had zero impact on our work, he wrote, tweeting out a link to the story.

The report noted that Warner had extensive contact with lobbyist Adam Waldman last year whose firm has ties to Hillary Clinton. Waldman, according to the report, was also a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch.
Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, was trying to get information as part of the panels investigation into whether Russia meddled in the 2016 election.
The Fox report emphasized that the text messages between the two seemed to show secrecy was of utmost importance to the senator, however.
Throughout the text exchanges, Warner seemed particularly intent on connecting directly with Steele without anyone else on the Senate Intelligence Committee being in the loop -- at least initially. In one text to the lobbyist, Warner wrote that he would "rather not have a paper trail" of his messages. (Fox News)
President Trump touted the report on Twitter, writing, Wow! -Senator Mark Warner got caught having extensive contact with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch. Warner did not want a paper trail on a private meeting (in London) he requested with Steele of fraudulent Dossier fame. All tied into Crooked Hillary.

Senaturds of the uniparty close ranks to protect one another. Piss on them.
I happen to agree that it’s not that big a deal for a congressman to try to obtain information from whomever has it.
The only reason it’s a big deal is that when Trump Jr did the same thing the entire mass media shouted from the rooftops about how awful it was.
Little Marco jumped right out in front to defend Warner. I wonder why Little Marco felt he had to provide cover for the ‘Rats? What is ‘Bubble Boy’ hiding?
“Zero impact on ‘our’ work” confirms the entire committee is influenced by bi-partisan corruption. We have few heroes left.
Swampsters protecting swampsters.
Sorry, but RINO-ubio is about as believable as Dan Rather.
Hmmm... What does Little Marco have to hide? I wonder....
This type of remark is unnecessary from Little Marco. Let Warner defend himself. Your not his mother. Would he defend you Marco?
When Warner does it, its OK and no big deal. When Donald Trump Jr. does basically the same thing, its evidence of treason. And they wonder why conservatives have zero confidence in anyone in Washington or the political media anymore.
He needs to be primaried.
I see your true colors
Shining through...
Sundance has Rubio labeled as TOTALLY CORRUPT...and this pretty much shows it.
Not gonna work Rubio......IG already had his emails and text before his disclosure.....hahaaha
What "work", exactly, Little Marco?
Foamboy is a swamp creature.
Rubio is a despicable little rat.
Ahhhh. But requesting no paper trail is the nugget that (I hope) will come back to haunt Warner.
Sen.Warner fully disclosed this to the committee four months ago.”
I wonder if that four month period of complete cleansing would be transferable to the Trump-Russian collusion hoax. How many years has it been going on?
