Justice Dept. official who helped oversee Clinton, Russia probes steps down
Washington Post ^ | 2/7/18 | Ellen Nakashima

A Justice Department official who helped oversee the controversial probes of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and Russian interference in the 2016 election stepped down this week.

David Laufman, an experienced federal prosecutor who in 2014 became chief of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, said farewell to colleagues Wednesday. He cited personal reasons.

His departure from the high-pressure job comes as President Trump and his Republican allies have stepped up attacks on the Justice Department, the FBI and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III for their handling of the Russia probe.

“It’s tough to leave a mission this compelling and an institution as exceptional as the Department of Justice,” said Laufman, 59. “But I know that prosecutors and agents will continue to bring to their work precisely what the American people should expect: a fierce and relentless commitment to protect the national security of the United States.”

He was caught and ratted on his Democrat colleagues. More fun to come.

And America has become a laughing stock. I apologize for calling other countries sh*tholes and Banana Republics because my own country is leading the way.

The IG report is going to blow this out of the water... And a lot of those ‘resigning’ wouldn’t likely survive it’s release. To save face it’s better to make it look like you left instead of got fired.

Not sure what thy do south of the border, but I work with government in Canada and as soon as you say ‘resign’, they disallow you access to your computer and you are typically escorted out the door. Your personal possessions to follow in a bankers box that you may pick up at a later time.

Everything you do on your computer is the property of the government and allowing you (a non employee) to access your desk and computer and then spend the afternoon deleting your hard drive and other files is not an option. Some employees are under the impression that they still have a ‘hard’ drive but in actual fact, they did away with ‘real’ hard drives some years ago. So everything is typically recoverable but this is done as a matter of courtesy to the IT staff just in case you think you are computer savvy enough to delete unwanted material and end up making their jobs slightly more difficult.

The Post continues their denial of the three investigations. Obviously that's on purpose so they can obfuscate everything. Investigation Matter 1: Hillary's extremely reckless email practices.

Investigation 2: Russian election meddling, meaning they (and we) read that one public report from deep-state-connected Crowdstrike about how the Fancy Bear and Dancing Bear Russian hackers were hacking the DNC. What was funny at the time (summer 2016) was a freeper telling me it really was the Russians, because he saw the source code. I called BS at the time not knowing too much about it except I like to call everything I read about BS. Later we found out the FBI never bothered to request or even look at the DNC server. From that they created some sham classified stuff that all 17 intelligence agencies "indepently validated" even the Coast Guard. All agreed in lockstep but Rogers' agency disagreed with the "high confidence" assessment, and Rogers ran the agency that should know the most.

Investigation 3, the one the Post will deny to their dying day, the illegal 'investigation" of the Trump campaign coordinated by the adorable couple Peter and Lisa, reporting to all-around nice guy Andy. Sometimes providing TP to D who briefed zero.

So we had one matter, one investigation where nothing was investigated,, and one domestic political spying operation. I'm sure the loser who left today had nothing to do with any of those scams.

Trump’s mistake was in not draining the swamp on day one.

Rush said the same thing today.

Louis Lerner didn’t get away with shit. Some day people will tell their children her story as a warning to what happens to vile, evil, power abusing people.

They’ll have their government pensions. they may make their way to a country without an extradition treaty with the US. Hopefully it’s Venezuela or Cuba. They will get a good taste of what it is like to live in a Socialist Utopia.
