Carter W. Pages only political contribution ever was $2,300 to John McCains Presidential campaign, according to the FEC.
Page did not even CONTRIBUTE to Trump.
I smell a swamp creature planted by 0bama in the Trump camp for the purpose of opening up a wiretap on Trumps entire operation for Hillary.
Is anybody REALLY surprised?
Call their bluff. Dont redact anything.
Trump can release anything he wants.
If the Demonrats want to expose sources and methods, then let them.
Can’t help but think this second memo will back fire on them as it will open the door for a flood of memos, now that both sides agree that public awareness is a good thing. :/ The more info in the realm of common knowledge, the harder it is for the dems to lie.
The Dems have set themselves up for a nightmare.
Trump holds a press briefing and announces that because the Dems have insisted on playing politics he’ll prove it by releasing the Dem memo in its’ entirety without ANY REDACTIONS.
He then will announce that he will ask the Media to provide 5 people to meet with him to go over the Dem Memo. The only caveat will be that the Editors of their paper or media outlet will have final say on whether to release the Dem Memo in its’ entirety or not.
Any attempt by the Media to release ANY abbreviated version will mean that the Whit House will release the ENTIRE memo.
Checkmate.
Just compare it to the Grassley letter which is of similar length and still has significant redactions.
My memo can beat up your memo.
My memo can beat up your memo.
Easy poker play...
White House approves Dem memo without redactions and returns to the House Dems....with a WARNING!
“It is YOUR responsibility to declassify before releasing to the public.”
“Violators will be prosecuted!”
If this is true then the intel committee should never have released it to go to the White House.
We still don't the type and extent of surveillance on Trump Tower, but the details or exactly how it was/is done are classified. The Dems would put those in as evidence of guilt since how could someone being surveilled be not guilty.
Sometimes an executive has to choose between the lesser of two evils.
The choice here is:
1) Do damage by releasing sources/methods
2) Do damage by allowing our republic to be materially undermined.
Since we’re talking about folks who tried to prevent the election of a political opponent, we have what the constitution describes as a set of people who are “enemies domestic”.
If the people cannot express their will at the ballot box, the only other way to effect change in government is violent overthrow.
Any players involved in undermining the election as has been done should at least be removed from their government position or at most put in prison.
Trump has to decide what’s more important, sources/methods or the republic itself. I would choose the republic.
What good is source/method protection to the people if it only protects a tyranny that suppresses their will at the ballot box?
That’s what would make the choice easier for me. I’d make a speech describing things as above, blame the democrats for forcing this choice, and release an un-redacted memo.
Choosing to protect sources/methods means the enemies domestic have another day to thwart the will of the people.
Maybe next time, they’ll be successful.
Keep in mind, had Hilary won, we wouldn’t get a whiff of this stuff.
We are lucky to have a chance to stamp this behavior out now. We should take that chance.
The RATs are liars. Rotten to the core.
If one screams but nobody listens, did the Dem actually scream?
