House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said the FBI should have opened a counterintelligence investigation of Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2016.
On "Hannity," Nunes discussed Republicans' controversial memo alleging surveillance abuses by the FBI, explaining the "clear link to Russia" which led to a FISA warrant to surveil Carter Page.
He said the Clinton campaign hired a law firm, which hired Fusion GPS, which then hired "foreign agent" Christoper Steele to dig up dirt via Russians on Donald Trump. The resulting dossier was then used to obtain the surveillance warrant.
"It seems like the counterintelligence investigation should have been opened up against the Hillary Clinton campaign when they got a hold of the dossier," said Nunes.
Earlier in the day, Nunes claimed there have been nearly "100 leaks" to the media by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee related to the Russia investigation.

The hull-crushing depth of corruption in the FBI leadership would not allow that.
Hannity is all over it. I hope that it picks up some traction.

There was never much chance of that happening. Obama’s DoJ had Hillary’s back in all this.
Gee, that would have required an FBI leadership interested in actually investigating possible wrong-doing by a prominent Democrat.
Sessions is carrying their water now.

They should also have opened an investigation into why McCain sent a courier to meet someone (was it London or Milan, I forget) under laughably spy-novel-esque claudestine circumstances, to take a handoff of the dossier the FBI proportedly already had, to return to the US and to McCain like a good little puppy fetching the morning news, McCain then hand-delivering said document to person(s) in the FBI.
If he would have released it BEFORE it was reauthorized it might not have gotten reauthorized. There would at least have been a debate.
Maybe Nunes is about to do another snare. I love this guy.
What was the timeline there?
Schiff had Nunes gagged and tied with an Ethics investigation almost immediately after Nunes saw whatever it was at the White House.
Oh I think Nunes is a hero! I just hope that for every word, there are 100X more actions being taken. Tired of all the posturing and “saying” things that we want to hear. Now is the time for actions. This would go a long way into restoring trust in DOJ and FBI.
