Schiff: FISA Memo Means People Will Be Less Likely to Report Fertilizer Bomber Neighbors to the Feds

Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) said Sunday that a consequence of the controversial Devin Nunes memo alleging Justice Department surveillance abuses would be people would be more hesitant to report their neighbors to the FBI for being potential fertilizer bombers.

ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked Schiff on Sunday about the Democratic concern that the GOP intelligence memo is meant to undermine Robert Mueller's Russia investigation and whether that strategy was working.

"I don't think it's working, in the sense that people have a lot of confidence in Bob Mueller," Schiff said. "But it is impeaching the FBI, and the problem with this, and this is, I think, at the heart of the department's concern, is if you have a neighbor who's buying fertilizer, lots of fertilizer, but has no yard, and you have concerns about it, and you want to call the FBI, you're now going to wonder, is that FBI going to hold my name in confidence or this information in confidence?"

Even people who live in neighborhoods that are generally suspicious of the police usually call the police to report a crime or to report a threat. Who else are they going to call?

On the other side of the pc spectrum, how many people have seen suspicious activity from a Muslim neighbor but failed to report it for fear of being accused of islamaphobia? How many genuine terror attacks could have been prevented but weren’t because the witness knew they would either be ignored by the Leftwing politicized FBI or be victimized by stepping forward? Isn’t it interesting that Lefty Shiffs focus is on terrorism but not Muslim terrorism which is the primary type of terrorism in the world today?

The last several years haven’t been kind to the FBI. In addition to this, there are serious concerns about them dragging their feet in the sports doctor Larry Nassar investigation, where it’s alleged that several young ladies were molested long AFTER the FBI became involved.

And what about terrorist suspects where the FBI was given a heads-up, did a minimal amount of checking and ultimately did nothing, only to have the situation blow-up, so to speak, in the aftermath.

Weren’t the Boston Marathon bombers on the radar before they acted? Or am I mistaken on that? I don’t think this is the only example, either...

San Bernadino for starters. Neighbors seeing folks come and go into the garage carrying items all hours of the day and night. The female across the street literally told the media, she would have reported but didn’t want to get labeled as racist. This whole BS, “See something, say something” campaign is a lie. My buddy used to host a radio show here in town, he’s now in OKC, a county legislator saw a bunch of military age Muslim men praying on a beach down here, in a county that has pretty much a 0% Muslim population, and he reported on it and was crucified in the local msm for it.

Well if the FBI simply took the word of a person who witnessed a fertilizer buy I would be rather concerned if that alone let them obtain a FISA or other warrant from the courts. The FBI would have to build up a case using several independent sources and informants. It is customary for those names to be redacted. The investigation would also require the FBI do some of their own legwork. But no matter. That too will grind to halt because Steele Dossier!

We have to assume that hostile intelligence services penetrated Hillary’s e-mail, and know everything that was on it - and/or on Weiner’s laptop. Any “intelligence community” that wants to be controlled by a woman who compromised every bit of classified information to which she as Secretary of State was privy is in need of a very severe attitude adjustment.
