For more than a year, an F.B.I. inquiry into allegations that Lawrence G. Nassar, a respected sports doctor, had molested three elite teenage gymnasts followed a plodding pace as it moved back and forth among agents in three cities. The accumulating information included instructional videos of the doctors unusual treatment methods, showing his ungloved hands working about the private areas of girls lying facedown on tables.
But as the inquiry moved with little evident urgency, a cost was being paid. The New York Times has identified at least 40 girls and women who say that Dr. Nassar molested them between July 2015, when he first fell under F.B.I. scrutiny, and September 2016, when he was exposed by an Indianapolis Star investigation. Some are among the youngest of the now-convicted predators many accusers 265, and counting.

I wonder if Comey will tweet about the New York Times besmirching the fine reputation of the FBI...
Don’t hold your breath.
As NYPD Detectives say ‘The FBI couldn’t find a jew in the Bronx”.
Comey to Nassar: “Keep the Faith, you will be exonerated”
The FBIs reputation is so badly destroyed that nothing will restore faith in them again.
Just like what happened as former PA Governor Tom Core-butthole stalled the Jerry Sandusky prosecution—until he was safely in the Governor’s mansion.
Enablers by any other name would smell so sh!tty.
If they’d done their jobs, those people in San Bernadino would have enjoyed their Christmas with family.
If they’d done their jobs, 47 gays would still be alive in Orlando
how many times in the last few years have we found that the FBI knew of and had interaction with mass shooters before they did their deeds?
So true. Mueller and Comey’s FBI in action. Or not.
DISBAND THE FBI
Thanks, I was starting to turn blue.
They’ve gotten to be laws unto themselves.
Nassar didn’t need to be busted with infinite care before girls could have been warned away. Leaning on the FBI was like leaning on the proverbial splintered reed.
This Doc was first formally reported (a criminal complaint made) back 2004.
The cops now admit they ‘did a poor job”
Plenty of blame to go around, to include the coaches and the folks at UofM...
Or as the Unabomber said, "The FBI is a joke."
Speaking of the Unabomber, even at this late date the FBI is still boasting and carrying on about catching him through their brilliant forensics work, when in fact, his brother put him right in their laps after having been nagged by his wife.
A lot of folks could have said no to Nassar well before a formal bust.
But they didn’t.
That’s part of what leaning on a nanny government gets you.
Okay, that’s funny. I don’t care who you are.
They’d have to set up an elaborate sting.
All government workers care about or talk about when they’re together is their retirement.
