MRC President Bozell Hammers Biased Network Coverage of FBI Memo

RESTON, VA – Media Research Center President Brent Bozell issued the following statement today slamming the media’s coverage of the newly released congressional memo concerning FISA abuses at the DOJ and FBI. The bombshell report documents multiple surveillance abuses carried out by the FBI against then-candidate Donald Trump.

According to a new study from NewsBusters, between January 29 and February 1 network news devoted 3.5 times more coverage to worries over the memo’s release than the alleged FBI misconduct it documents.

MRC President Brent Bozell:

“This explosive memo exposes a disturbing and unprecedented agenda within the FBI and DOJ against President Trump and his 2016 campaign. The information contained in this memo constitutes a bombshell story by any objective measure. How in the world does this not merit Watergate-like media coverage?! Yet in their coverage leading up to its release – without ever having read it – the media dismissed this memo over and over as nothing more than a distraction fabricated by Republicans. In fact, for every story talking about the memo, they've had nearly four dismissing it!

“TV news have spent nearly one hundred hours covering the investigation into alleged “collusion” between Russia and the Trump campaign. It was the number one news story in 2017 yet there wasn't a lick of evidence. This is proof the media only lend credibility to controversies that are damaging to Republicans and President Trump. The media are abdicating their responsibility to accurately inform the American public.

“Now that the memo is public, the media owe it to the American people to report this story fairly and truthfully. We have witnessed over a year of an unparalleled, deliberate effort by the press to remove a president they despise, and it is time they are held accountable.”

Virtually every report I have heard is reporting the memo contains false and unverified information, is a partisan GOP documents with “errors and omissions”, and playing clips of experts saying that the information can’t be true re: the use of the dossier, even though what they claiming is true is based on direct testimony in which McCabe admitted the Democrat opposition research dossier was in fact the primary basis for the FISA warrant application - they are not reporting this admission with the corroborating evidence and are just reporting it was “alleged” for the dossier to have been used, then play a clip of an “expert” saying that isn’t possible.

Fake news media now says its a nothing burger and at worst, its an abuse of the FISA warrant process involving one individual and is not an indictment of the DOJ, the FBI and the SC.

You can bet they would treat it very differently if Trump had requested FBI surveillance of a Democratic presidential campaign.

The real issue isn’t Russia; its the abuse of legitimate law enforcement methods for illegal political ends, to defeat the candidate of an opposition party and after his election, to undermine his legitimacy as a public official.

That’s what no one is talking about in the fake news media. Its more explosive than Watergate.

You have to wonder what level of scandal has to be reached before the worthless horse-and-buggy media will grudgingly cover it. Short of burning down a few ivory towers, I'm not sure there's much we can do to stop this horror of bias and falsity. I already boycott every liberal print, TV, and radio outlet, along with the majority of movies and (so-called) music that lean left.

I'm afraid it's going to take more than passive action though. These people are filth, and the time is rapidly approaching when we're going to have to treat them like it.

Of course they will lie like mad. They will get more brazen when it sinks in that nothing is going to be done about it... after all “departments aren’t perfect.”

Most people who spend little time on the news, will not know who to believe about this. The people who watch CNN, NBC etc. will repeat those talking points. The people who watch Fox will repeat what is said. The messages are opposites on their take on the ObamaGate machine, spying on the Trump campaign. The people who watch Fox will believe there was a crime. The people who watch CNN will believe this is an effort for Trump to get off the hook from the Mueller investigation. It will be a struggle for the truth to shine through.

Clearly the memo is just one more step in draining tbe swamp.

I think a good NEXT STEP would be to indict three slimeballs for PERJURY: Comey, Brennan and Clapper.

Trump has the power to declassify anything.

He needs to declassify and release the FISA warrants, the FISA orders, and the court transcripts from those hearings.

If some redaction is necessary, fine.

Trump also needs to declassify and release the memos that James Comey gave to his academic friend, who then leaked the memos to various news organizations.

There is no downside here, Trump.

You should have done this months ago.

Brian Ross’ exact words on ABC news when Michael Flynn was indicted.....”this is a BOMBSHELL, sending SHOCK WAVES through the White House”.

This was stated as absolute fact, with zero skepticism. As if he was sitting in the Oval Office with Trump’s advisers witnessing the “shock waves” himself. Now, even ABC doesn’t want Ross reporting about anymore “bombshells”.

I hope the MSM spends 2018 being forced to say “partisan” and “nothingburger” as often as they spent 2017 saying “Russian collusion” and “impeachment”.

Opinion ends where action starts. All we know for sure is that Mueller is going to do something. It appears we have the juice to stop him, but do we (Sessions) have the guts.

I haven’t watched network news since Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite cried about Ronald Reagan’s election being the end of the USA. Progressives are not clever, merely mean of body and spirit with souls seeking only evil, given over to reprobate minds.

These are lost souls serving on the losing side of the only battle this nation has ever fought. The Spiritual battle between Jesus the Christ and Satan. When we see the battle in the light of God’s mercy and grace we see clearly where all battle lines are drawn and where we must stand.

If God is for it Satan must be against it. Marriage, children, responsibility, moral/ethical/righteous living. It has not now or ever been political only spiritual. We must kneel before God or kneel before man. Choose wisely for you are no longer ignorant.

I believe this tactic is called Muddying the Water.

Similar logically to, "LOOK! A squirrel!"

Akin to, "How'd these elephant footprints get on the carpet?"
