Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Friday following the release of the controversial Nunes memo alleging FISA abuse by the FBI and Department of Justice. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Full statement:
“Congress had made inquiries concerning an issue of great importance for the country and concerns have been raised about the Department’s performance. I have great confidence in the men and women of this Department. But no Department is perfect.
Accordingly, I will forward to appropriate DOJ components all information I receive from Congress regarding this. I am determined that we will fully and fairly ascertain the truth.
We work for the American people and are accountable to them and those they have elected. We will meet that responsibility.”
This tears it.
Everyone should keep one key target in mind: 2018 congressional elections. Everything else is noise. So, how does Team Trump manage, contribute and direct a massive electoral sweep and confirmation of the MAGA mandate?
It requires both summer Congressional investigative hearings, as well as DOJ criminal proceedings via multiple impaneled grand juries. The roll-out has a very specific timeline, with well ordered milestones and deliverables. This will be Trump's penultimate achievement.

Yeah, its just a coincidence he praises Rosenstein and the DOJ on the morning of the memo’s release.

Anyone who has headed an organization which has employed "Dirty" individuals IS NOT going to tar all employees as "DIRTY"! We have all had associates who turned out to be "DIRTY" in some degree and, felt disgust for their behavior and how we felt tainted by their behavior (I know I have)! It will take quite some time for the "Cleansing" to take place ..., but it will (IT DAMN WELL BETTER)!

Sessions is a high-functioning moron.
Universally rejecting political correctness in all its forms, I NEVER confuse adequacy with "distinction."
Most of us do our jobs and never demand special labels.
Let's not abuse a useful word.
Special counsels are needed to do the job when the people you already paid to do the job aren't doing the job!

Agree 100%. I even think Trump’s aggressive — even for Trump — attacks on Sessions last year were part of a long-term plan, which is to make it hard for anyone down the road to accuse Sessions of being motivated by pro-Trump bias.
They know that he isn’t going after them. It was led by corrupt people.
The tag team of Sessions/Rosenstein gave us Mueller. So far the only thing Mueller has on Trump is that he fired Comey. If Trump fires Sessions, he gives Mueller a massive gift, prolongs the witch hunt indefinitely, and gifts the hysterical left with a cause celebre.
If my theory is correct, Sessions is out of a job within days of the end of the witch hunt.

I don’t mind if he makes the comment that no department is perfect as long as he actually investigate the claims and issues from the memo.
Make no mistake about it.
Anything short of an Erdogan style purge will ensure that this will not only CONTINUE to happen, but that next time they will make sure they succeed.
This coup attempt by the FBI, the FISA Court, and the DOJ gives Trump COMPLETE JUSTIFICATION to get rid of THOUSANDS that are connected to this PLOT, including politicians from BOTH parties, judges, enemedia, and Federal apparatchiks.
This is not a time to get mellow.
This is a time for ACTION.
Anything short of a complete PURGE is a BETRAYAL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

I sure hope you're right, but Sessions is beginning to show signs of the dreaded GOP disease - the next hill is always the one they will fight on.
If this isn't the beginning of the campaign, then what is?
