Wray has two choices as I see it.
1. Admit that the FBI is full of corruption and that he is going to turn over every stone to clean it up.
2. Hit the road.
Of course if he is in on it then only choice 2. applies.
Nobody ever really intends to get fired . . . it just happens - and then the firee refers to it as merely ‘quitting’ . . .
Has anyone expected him to quit.
I cannot wait for his defense: I know we are bad, but Trump is worse.
Wray is barely in his job for a fe2w weeks, to be really dirty. However he has to work with all the dirty big shots in FBI, so he is probably trying to cover for them.

But before debunking it they will attribute the rumor (they ginned-up) to Nunes, then Wray will be portrayed as a valiant fighter who prevailed against the forces of conservative Mordor.
Dirty little secret - when the memo is released, anybody prosecuted by F-I/D-J, investigated by Strzok, cases heard by Contreas, FISC involved, etc., will be jamming the Court’s for hearings. Those directly involved like Flynn will be due millions in compensation. The highest levels of our nation(s) court(s), law enforcement and IC agencies were totally corrupted over 8 years
Did Wray actually object to the release of the memo?
I suspect you’re right and I’m sure Wray knows he has to offer at least a perfunctory defense of the Bureau. He needs to clean house, acknowledge the Bureau’s sins and throw the Bureau at the mercy of the people at some point.
I, for one, would like to see the Bureau completely disbanded. It has become a KGB or Gestapo-like secret police force that answers to no one. We are inclined to think of this abuse of the FISA process and the weaponization of our intelligence capabilities as a one-off occurrence. It isn’t, and the publicly-known abuses and screw-ups of the FBI don’t begin to compare to those that haven’t seen the light of day.
That’s OK I’d rather see him get fired anyway!

The original rumor was that some of Hillary’s former agents were saying that Wray must be prepared to leave. Democrats and their political correctness dictate that their number one tactic is the accusation. They accuse like a loose wife. That’s what they do.
