House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:
Having stonewalled Congress demands for information for nearly a year, its no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with material omissions with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, its clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.
Nunes torched the Hillary Deep Staters.
How ‘bout you grease that elbow up and help me find the Mar 2017 Ethics complaint against Nunes that Gowdy signed?
A thread that came up around 6 this am explained the law on this. According to my memory, Trump doesn’t have anything to do with releasing the memo, UNLESS, during the 5 day period, he objects to its release. The committee is the body that releases it. I like that, I think CSPAN might be fun to watch next week.
Oh, and doing the math, I think it could be released on Friday.
Thanks for that. I stand corrected.
Although, it does seem strange that after Wray read the memo, he fired McCabe, yet the FBI sees “omissions” in the memo & just yesterday they stated it was factually correct.
Wow...thanks for ping to that txhurl. I’m not clear on procedural rules though- it may be Gowdy had to sign it as a formal complaint.
If it wasn’t procedural...that’s nasty.
I'll look later.
#78, they do it twice....At least in my world!
Thank you! You saved me a couple of phone calls.
Just a timing coincidence, I think. In other words, I really don't think the two events are related in any way, shape, or form.
-- yet the FBI sees "omissions" in the memo & just yesterday they stated it was factually correct. --
FBI speak with forked tongue.
I don't see Rooster (Gowdy) signing anything anywhere here...........
it may be Gowdy had to sign it as a formal complaint.
The Trump Soldier (davenyii) is where the Westerner said he saw it. I’ve looked, am looking....
Carter Page: I wanted ‘illegitimate’ FISA application released, memo seems to be ‘next best thing’
Corrupt FBI Officials Fight Back Against Intelligence Oversight Memo
Two ethics watchdog groups filed complaints about the chairman of the House intelligence committee, Republican Devin Nunes of California.Nunes says he's temporarily stepping aside from the panel's investigation of Russian meddling in the election because of the complaints.
Democracy 21 and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington say Nunes disclosed classified information, which violates House ethics rules.
The groups say Nunes publicly disclosed information he learned by viewing classified material.
Neither of those complaints has or needs a signature from a member of the House.
Not to say there isn't also a House-member initiated complaint, just that if there was, it wasn't in the news.
If Gowdy was on the Ethics Committee (I don't know for sure, but think he was), his signature may appear as some for of acknowledgment of receipt or handling the complaint. That is, some sort of ministerial function.
Like I said on another thread, I rather enjoy watching them run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
There is no “Sessions”. The little goblin you saw at the SOTU is a hologram. As to who’s in charge of the DOJ/FBI — still Obama’s people.
Thanks.
