I do not believe this is actually from a legitimate FBI release.
The lack of attribution and the word “we” without saying who was in the group tell me this is fake.
FBI Director never goes alone. Since McCabe didn’t see it, it’s almost certain that Bowdich, the #3 guy, did. That would be the chain-of-command.
It is important to note that the statement is unsigned, not under the name of FBI Director Christopher Wray or anyone else. Also, unusually, it is at odds with what White House chief of staff John Kelly said Wednesday."It will be released here pretty quick, I think, and then the whole world can see it," Kelly said in an interview with Fox News Radio.

It was only last week a report came out that Wray would resign if McCabe was fired. So Wray is either incompetent for having allowed McCabe to remain on at the bureau for almost a year or was protecting the bureau from scrutiny. In any event he chose poorly and it reflects badly on him.
Two people. One was the legal office and the other was the counterintelligence division.

Complete clean house, please.
You’ve totally lost our (the people) confidence in DoJ/FBI/CIA/NSA/....etc.
And “this” is not the right step to take on the road to redeem your worth.
The left, of all people, is acting like this is a terrible assault on the FBI that the nation may not be able to withstand it.
Yet, years ago it was a different story. From J. Edgar Hoover and his spying for Roosevelt against political opponents to Martin Luther King to Cointelpro to Ruby Ridge. We also have the IRS and the DOJ under Obama making mincemeat of people’s rights. It’s a long list. So maybe we can stop with the alligator tears and the fainting couch.
This would not be the first time that the FBI shredded the Constitutional rights of American citizens. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
1. Who at the FBI sent this?
2. Why isn't this statement posted among the public press releases on the FBI website?
Ten bucks says this was sent to the media by some @sshole in the FBI associated with McCabe who's desperately trying to keep the lid on this memo.
Then provide the omissions to the American public.
Which facts?
Or some clown who knows how to make fake fax headers. The press runs with unvetted material all the time, as long as it advances the narrative. Lie goes around the world before the truth puts its shoes on.
At least CNBC admitted it was running the story without vetting it.
This is why they have a 5 day waiting period..... so the guilty can show themselves.
Still trying to protect themselves
The term “we” gives me pause. Normally it would be “The FBI” or the “Agency” or the “Bureau”. I don’t recall ever seeing a communique from the FBI using “We”.
I have grave concerns about omissions as well. Fix it by releasing EVERYTHING the intell committee has regarding this conspiracy.
