Newton, MA U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Charles E. Schumer today announced that Congressman Joe Kennedy III will deliver the Democratic response to President Donald Trumps joint address to Congress next week.
From health care to economic justice to civil rights, the Democratic agenda stands in powerful contrast to President Trump's broken promises to American families," said Congressman Kennedy. "Our vision for this union is guided by a simple belief that equality and economic dignity should be afforded to every American. I'm honored to have been chosen by Leader Pelosi and Leader Schumer to deliver our party's response."
Congressman Kennedy is a relentless fighter for working Americans, said Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. While President Trump has consistently broken his promises to the middle class, Congressman Kennedy profoundly understands the challenges facing hard-working men and women across the country. His leadership has been vital in educating a next-generation workforce, in creating good-paying manufacturing jobs and in expanding opportunities for the middle class.
Whether its the repeated attempts to dismantle our health care system, jamming through tax cuts for the largest corporations and the wealthiest or repealing protections for consumers, women and the most vulnerable Americans, President Trumps first year has been marred by his broken promises to the middle class, said Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer. In their responses to the Presidents address, Congressman Kennedy and Virginia Delegate Guzman will both do an excellent job in making clear that Democrats are laser-focused on enacting policies to benefit middle class Americans, not special interests or the wealthiest.
Currently serving his third term, Congressman Joe Kennedy III, 37, has emerged as a powerful voice for social and economic justice. Joe has championed affordable health care, vocational education, a livable minimum wage and American manufacturing. As a member of the influential House Energy & Commerce Committee, Joe has been a leader on issues that range from mental health and addiction to medical research and rising energy costs. His opposition to President Trumps health care plan garnered national attention, as have his efforts to reform this countrys badly broken mental health system. In Congress, he is a leading voice for LGBTQ equality, voting rights, civil rights and immigration reform. Prior to serving in Congress, Joe was an Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts and a member of the Peace Corps in Latin America. He received his undergraduate degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and his law degree from Harvard. He is married to Lauren Birchfield Kennedy, a health policy expert. They live with their children, Eleanor and James, in Newton, Massachusetts.
I have never felt sorry for a Kennedy before......naw, still dont.
This guy is a nothing burger, the Dems think they can groom this white boy? Man, are they ever stupid.
The clan that can’t keep their pants up.
The guy is all over the place with liberal fluff, platitudes, and speaking about a multitude of self-appointed victims. He has a common theme though that the rich are all getting over on you.
Now he’s speaking Spanish...
Invokes #metoo
Maxine’s speech will be a good book end.
You’re not kidding. His content is crap and his delivery is abysmal.
This dude lived well off of daddy’s cheap venezuelan oil.. wonder how that’s working out?
Listen to this sweating, drooling drama queen... Honoring illegals and Black Lives Matter activists. Disgusting!
Thats not a response - thats an SNL skit
Giving a high school speech in a high school shop classroom
Who the hell picked him. He was living in his mothers basement at age 31.
I turned him off after only a few minutes. Same old same old......B S
Not just the drooling, but it’s obvious he thinks he’s a far more compelling speaker than he actually is. I tried to listen to him (really, I did!) but I couldn’t get through much more than five minutes before I had to change the channel. He managed to wave every virtue-signaling semaphore flag he had on hand, and still didn’t say anything of substance.
He seriously lives in a world with tangerine trees and marmalade skies...
Robert II is this loser’s father. Grandfather is Robert killed in ‘68.
What a simp. OMG Dems, really? Another one?
There is no such thing as popular vote.
Looks like he was sucking the big one tonight and has a bunch of KY jelly around his lips.
Probably the same team that setup Ky Governor Democrat Beshear for his epic fail.
Lol!
The highlight must have been "You battle your own quiet battles"!
