My Uncle Jack and my mother had come to the U.S. as youngsters with my Grandmother. Because the date of their entry into the U.S. had never been officially documented, when he went to enlist, the Army took my Uncle to Niagara Falls, had him cross into Canada, then walk back over the bridge into the U.S. Don't know if it's true, but that's the story we were told as kids. Jack served from 9/22/42 to 6/25/45.
My great-uncle John Holmes, who was from Canada was killed in France in WWI, in September 1918...just before the Armistace. He's buried there. He was with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces. I've got a picture of him in uniform on horseback, and a photo of his grave in the British Military Cemetery in France.
My brother was in the Army and served in Vietnam '66-67 with the 25th Infantry Division...Cu Chi. My Dad was born in 1904, too young for WWI, and although he was 37 when we entered WWII, he wasn't medically eligible as he suffered from Chronic Osteomyelitis (infection of the bone). One leg was shorter than the other, and he always had an open wound that drained. Had it from the time he was a kid, but never missed a day of work on the railroad.

Yes...the whole party is truly ‘screwed up’ in the head.....and they are fast understanding that they are but haven’t a clue what to do because they fail to see they’re wrong. You can’t live in that mental space they’ve created in their heads without it doing actual real damage in the long haul.

Oh, I couldn’t agree more. Those people who lead empty lives seeking the next million or the next thrill are missing the point of life.
Clearly we are put here to make the world (not exclusively the people but pretty much the people) a better place. Clearly our Creator wants us first and foremost to Do Good.
People get waylaid and selfish. Some people had no kindness or only rejection when they were young and their other in life shows that Take First or Be Taken mentality. We have to show kindness and goodness to our children in order for them to have such capacity themselves.

They just show, once again, that they don’t have the black population on their front burner as they should. They have power but fail miserably to use it for their own people ...because..... their pockets get lined $$$ to be willingly used by the demorats.

The President delivered a wonderful speech: a class act. He was very aware and nearly imperceptibly humorous at times, yet tactful and polite when looking toward the Democrat section.
That nation also gave its name to a giant rat.
