West Virginia's Sen. Joe Manchin (D.) criticized House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) after being shown a clip of her characterizing President Donald Trump's immigration plan as a way to "Make America White Again."
CNN's "State of the Union" host Jake Tapper used the Pelosi clip to start a discussion on immigration.
"Let me just say what I said last night: that plan is a campaign to make America white again," Pelosi said.
"You know what, we don't need that type of rhetoric on either side, from Nancy, Paul Ryan or anybody else," Manchin said.
Manchin proceeded to say that negotiations will depend on how comprehensive the DACA fix is meant to be.
"The president's laid out what he wants. That's a good starting point," Manchin said.
"But you condemned Nancy Pelosi's rhetoric," Tapper said.
"I'm condemning all of this crazy rhetoric that goes on," Manchin said.
That’s about all Joe is going to do. Make a “conservative” statement that gets a lot of press play. Then he’ll go back to voting the way Chuck and Nancy want him to vote.
Nancy, was it really so awful in the bad old days when you didn’t have to lock your doors, or you could leave your kid unattended in a baby stroller while you dashed into the store because everyone kept an eye on them (My wife tells me that was the norm in Rochester NY)?
Manchin doesn't have the backbone or gonads to tell San Fran Nan and sChmukie Schumer to go to hell. West Virginia deserves MUCH better.
Joe is a Democrat trapped in the formerly Democrat state of West Virginia. It is time for the voters to release him and set him free to pursue other interests.

Come on. He qualified it by saying ‘both sides’ throwing in something Ryan might have said. I cut it off right there. It wasn’t a disagreement at all. These headlines are like a Hannity big announcement.

Before the 1965 immigration law change America was 85% white.
The goal of leftists, including the ones wearing R jerseys, has been to make America non-white.
America has never been less white and whites will soon be in the minority no matter what. So this rhetoric by Nancy Pelosi is just flat out racist instigation.
BRILLIANT MOVE by Manchin!!! He defends Pelosi by basically saying that Paul Ryan is doing the same crap...when, of course, he hasn’t come close to sounding like her.
And EVERYONE, including on this site, takes the bait and really thinks that Manchin is attacking Pelosi!
The move was so smart that I can’t help but think he ASKED FOR the question - just to take down Ryan.
Manchin voted against the tax cuts and for Obamacare and represents a state that gave Trump the highest margin on votes of any state during the election. He thinks now just before his election he is going to show up on Fox and make like he supports Trump. Manchin can run but he cannot hide from the fact that he is a Democrat. Goodbye, Joe, looks like you are going to have to look for some other line of work come November.

It’s time for Manchin’s dog and pony show since it is election time to try to convince WV voters he’s really “one of them” even though the rest of the time he is voting in lockstep with Schumer - and would vote to make Schumer the Majority Leader. We need this seat - so hopefully this dog and pony show won’t work again this time around.
