A video in which a Southern California high school teacher is heard slamming members of the military as the frickin lowest of the low in a classroom rant to students has gone viral.
El Rancho High history teacher Gregory Salcido -- who also serves as an elected Pico Rivera city councilman and was once mayor -- even goes so far as to refer to those who are in the military overseas as failed students who had no choice but to serve, "Fox & Friends" reported Sunday.
Think about the people you know who are over there, Salcido is heard saying. Your freakin' stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They're dumb s - - - s. They're not high-level bankers. They're not academic people. They're not intellectual people."
Theyre the freakin lowest of our low. (trunc)

No. I went to Orlando NPS.
I was just having fun with the situation. You are correct, people need to search before they post. And I’m with you, on FR just about everyday.
Don’t even need all three of those. Heinlein was right - the one characteristic needed is the proven ability to put the benefit of the group ahead of one’s own, or one’s family or tribe.
At the beginning of the book’s chronology, they don’t have a war against the Bugs either. And today there are 8 year enlistment terms available.
Oops, thanks for pointing that out. I did a search using the title of the article and nothing came up. Should I be searching using something other than the title of the article? Thanks for the input.
>>And today there are 8 year enlistment terms available.
First enlistment? That would take a true moron to commit for that long without knowing what you are buying into.
I did 8, but it was two enlistments.
No oops necessary; nothing wrong with your post. It has a different source than the link I posted.
When doing a search, I pick a word or words from the title that will be distinctive during the search, leave the ‘match any word’ dropdown box alone and pick ‘order by post time’ in the ‘order by...’ dropdown box.
The base enlistment contract is now 8 years total: https://www.thebalance.com/what-the-recruiter-never-told-you-3332715

It was in the 80s too. But the balance of the 8 after your regular enlistment was inactive (non-drilling) reserves.
Given Stop Loss and such, there are guys currently serving in Afghanistan and formerly Iraq that are still on their first enlistment and theyve been in for going on 8 years...
Try to stay on topic. You were replying to my idea that teaching should be a second career with a minimum age of 35. You brought up Starship Troopers and I agreed, but said that the 35 year minimum should stand because of differences in our society and that of ST.
Then you said that “And today there are 8 year enlistment terms available.”
I said that I would never sign up for 8 years of active duty as a first tour. You replied with “The base enlistment contract is now 8 years total”, which is true and always has been. But an 8 year total service obligation is not the same as signing up for 8 years active duty right off the bat.
So, now, you are bringing up Stop-Loss. Whatevs.
I’m still saying that a person under the age of 35 should not teach. Period. Maybe it would be OK for elementary school, but definitely not JHS or HS. At the ages of those kids, they need to hear about life and not life theory. They need to know what employers think and not what professors think.
Cool, thanks for the information, it will be quite helpful in the future.
