my grocer locks up baby formula which is pretty weird to me.

The way this generation feels that everything is "owed" to them just for living and breathing, everything will be locked up behind a counter and we'll be frisked at the checkout. Did I mention how much I totally despise this generation?

Pseudoephedrine has been restricted by the fed DEA for a number of years. It’s not on the public shelf anywhere.

As some who worked in Walmart and was in management I can tell you the reason that stuff may have been locked up. Now I cannot speak to this location but generally in Walmart one of the biggest areas for theft is HBA department where perfume and hair products are. In some stores that can be the top 1 or 2 places for shoplifting, the other place is usually the electronics department. It’s just the way it is.

Maybe she was upset she could not get her stuff and just walk out of the store.

Perhaps the best option is for stores to have a customer simply order off of a video monitor then have employees gather the items and all the customers can pre-pay before they receive the merchandise.

No theft and everybody gets treated the same.

Walmart was profiling the customers.

The profile for the Silky Straight thief is “Black”

“At one of the dollar stores in the nearby city ... they keep all the Tide products locked up. Gain, no. Arm & Hammer, no. Fabuloso and Suavitel ... no. Just Tide.”

There was an article a year or two ago about Tide being “street currency” in certain neighborhoods. It talked about whole pallets of the stuff being stolen from stores and trucks.
Only in certain neighborhoods you understand.

I’m tired of asking everywhere to unlock their razor blades. Bias towards the clean shaven

Yes, some idiot councilwoman in Philadelphia was trying to get it banned, I haven’t kept up with whether the ban went through. Anything that protects people from the criminal depredations of evil thugs is apparently “racist”. It’s racist to defend your property, your safety, your life. Only criminals have “rights”.

That raises an off-topic question. What is SO fascinating with Tide?

I work on my own car, yard work, camping, going out to the range. My clothes get dirty, greasy, muddy. Since I'm divorced, I do my own laundry. "Era" worked better than any of them, and is usually $2 cheaper in the large, 1 gallon sizes, which has a less per/unit cost. I tried them all.

Yet, Tide is the one locked in a case...

That’s the only thing to do. Otherwise they will just continue to narrow the language, in order to control thought.

Whatever items are stolen the most are locked up. That is not racism.

Oh, besides the razor blades, you can’t buy STP gas treatment at the automated check out w/o a clerk.

What’s up with that?

All the Sudafed is behind the counter in Ohio. I think it is a law. I also believe there are restrictions on how much anyone can buy at a time.

Some in my family have sensitive skin and for us Tide is what works. I had to wash DD’s clothes in Dreft (for babies) until she was 9 or 10.

I don’t think that’s why it’s locked up in teh dollar store in town.

Also, you can walk by some city people (I work in town) and they almost reek of Tide.
