This story was supposed to be over, except for the ongoing review of how the mistake was made and what can be done to prevent it in the future. When that doomsday alert hit every phone in Hawaii earlier this month, letting everyone know that the actual fire and fury was incoming and they probably had minutes to live, everybody was praying it was a mistake. Thank God, it actually did turn out to be a mistake. Or did it?
We were never told the identity of the mysterious Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA) employee who supposedly pushed the wrong button and set off the alarm. As much as wed like to have all the details, that sort of made sense, at least in the short term. If they threw the poor sap out in the spotlight on the day of the false alarm, its not entirely crazy to think that some enraged locals might hunt him down. (Im just going to go with assuming it was a guy at this point and apologize later if it was a lady.) But in private, he was set to cooperate with the ongoing investigations being conducted by both the FCC and HI-EMA. That should help get things sorted out and make sure the system is up to snuff in the future.
Theres just one problem. The button pusher in question has gone silent after a single written statement and is refusing to cooperate with the investigation. (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)

Probably a North Korean Agent.
Disgruntled Trump/military hater, did it on purpose.
Similar to the fake church burnings, etc.
Waterboard him.
I bet money on it that it’s a stupid libtard anti-Trump moron.
There is no ‘button’... there is a complex series of steps that you have to take.
Yep, at GITMO.
A lib did it.
It’s Hawaii.
Loretta Fuddy may soon come to say “Aloha”.
The person gave a statement. If the feds want more discussion that can only be to try to lock someone up. A smart person wouldn’t discuss it anymore with a fed.
I bet money on it that its a stupid libtard anti-Trump moron.

><
You nailed it.
... and proud supporter of Hussein 0bama, Hillary Clinton and the dem socialist party!
Or somebody could have hacked into the system just to send us a warning
Yep, likely intentional.
Its the only scenario that makes sense.
We were in Maui at the time and my first reaction was to seek verification via national news, since Hawaii doesn’t have it’s own launch detection system.
Finding none, and having been in the business for 45 years, I reasoned, NK has now guidance system with which to target and no re-entry system for any warhead.
So, when the family finally got all together, I told them this was BS....yet they were not consoled.
Test run? No, this system was simply a warning message for the civilian population on the island. There was no detected missile, so we had no actual inbound missile response. The military would have known and already been responding were there an actual inbound missile regardless of this warning message.
You know, if people jut feared they MIGHT be waterboarded there would be a lot less lying going on. Hussein and his cohort McLame took the option off the table, just like other things they did to weaken our country...
Perhaps he didn’t buy in to the way they tried to spin it.
Oh wow, what a way to start a vacay.
What high level government politicians were in Hawaii at the time this occurred ?
From Powerline:
Here is a wild guess: the employee who pushed the wrong button is a fanatical anti-Trump Democrat who believed that causing hysteria over a presumed North Korean missile attack would somehow make the president look bad. If that guess is incorrect, maybe the anonymous employee should start cooperating with the investigation.
