Those who are here, OK, but no more.
Trump could offer full citizenship to all ~15 million illegals, chain migration, lottery immigration, and zero deportations in return for a border wall and security and the Democrats would reject it. The issue here is not the issue.
Rigorously enforce current law for two years and then open discussions.
If/when it fails, he can take that to the people and say he tried to negotiate but the (D)'s wanted only their way.
If it passes congress, he could always veto it if we melt the w.h. phone lines.
Trump lied to his voters. This voter will be sitting at home election day if he actually goes through with this citizenship and lunacy wall deal.
Maybe you should tune in Tucker or Dobbs, the bill they are reporting on does none of that. What it will do is lose the House for sure and maybe the Senate, like Tokyo Rove did and over the same issue.
Chain migration does not end but limits to immediate family. Includes people that are not even in DACA.
I can hope the House or Senate will not for it.
Republicans won the government shut down war and gave it away two days later. How typical. This is Trump’s Read My Lips moment. If he lied to us, i am done with him, forever.
“President Trump proposed legislation on Thursday that would provides a path to citizenship for as many as 1.8 million young, undocumented immigrants in exchange for an end to decades of family-based migration policies, a massive border wall and a vast crackdown on other illegal immigrants already living in the country.”
Don’t worry, folks.. he knows the dems will never go for it, because they have to give up far more than they’re willing. It won’t come to pass, but Trump can have the upper hand politically.
“as nothing but .... attempt to rid the country of immigrants and slam shut the nations borders.”
Well...
DUH...
But that is NOT the plan. It's 1.8 million DACA people and their parents, and out with everyone else, far more than just the 40 million illegals currently here, on top of ending huge amounts of legal immigration that is even more insidious than the illegal variety---because we can't deport the bastards when we catch them!
Goodness, does this mean that conservatives must now hope that the Democrats will reject the deal?
From the article:
**White House officials said that the list of enhanced security measures which have been on anti-immigration wish lists for decades were nonnegotiable. They warned that if no deal is reached, DACA recipients will face deportation when the program fully expires on March 5.**
The President is not a politician, but he understands compromise better than any repub in recent memory. Compromise is a 2 way street - here’s what I want for you to get what you want. The rats are used to getting everything they want while giving up nothing. Quite refreshing.
Trump - master nipple twister....Chucky ain’t gonna be getting any sleep until a lot are deported....
Downside: We ain't getting a Wall. It was a first-year item, all or nothing. It's clear the Swamp will slowwalk it to eternity as a sop to the RINO free labor addicts - just enough porous borders to mow your lawn...
Im willing to bet only 20% of DACAs will meet criteria for citizenship - and those that do, will be hard workers that will grow to hate taxes. Im for a deal that looks like that.
The comments were surprisingly reasonable for the
NYT.
Any Conservative or Centrist that embraces a plan, that isn’t needed, that gives amnesty to 1.8 million people, who for the most part, hate this country, is a moron.
Through surrogates, the Left will challenge every single aspect of this deal and get injunctions from favorable courts. When that happens, the family members will be climbing the wall like the zombies did in World War Z.
Florida is already a done deal. That state will be forever, Blue, with all the recent folks from Puerto Rico. Georgia is close behind. South Carolina coming up. All due to illegal immigration and the ridiculous notion of, BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP.
This bill is an insult to every single person that voted for the President. Just when I thought he was going to actually do something, he pulls this bullsh*t. He doesn’t have to make any deal, whatsoever. DACA is deader than disco in March. End it.
I think if this is a bad deal, the House, as we can thank them before with the gang of 8 bill, will not allow this kind of legislation to pass. I’m still undecided.
This is incomplete and sloppy—doubt by Steve Miller. No mention, for example, eVerify! And how about some clarity about the other 30-60 million illegal aliens. No more catch-and-release, just arrest-and-deport? Those two points, plus a discussion about birthright citizenship are needed.
