The employee responsible for sending a false mobile alert across Hawaii warning of an incoming ballistic missile is not cooperating with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigations looking into the matter, an FCC official said Thursday, according to media reports.
"We are quite pleased with the level of cooperation we have received from the leadership of the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency thus far," Fowlkes said, according to Axios.
"We are disappointed, however, that one key employee, the person who transmitted the false alert, is refusing to cooperate with our investigation," she added. "We hope that person will reconsider."

Yep, Rush was right. Again.
SOunds a wee bit suspicious, to me...................
I hope they’ve looked at all his social media, like whether he’s an Antifa sympathizer or someone encouraged him to do this.
I thought it was done intentionally before I heard that Rush said the same thing
How did this hurt Trump?
And I thought I had it figured out: A novice radar operator on Oahu mistook a group of B-17s arriving from the mainland for an ICBM.
Since there were no incoming missiles, the transmission was sent in error. Whether that was done accidentally or deliberately remains to be determined.
Activism.
Resistance.
The electronic version of a DC softball game mass shooting attempt.
“We hope that person will reconsider.”
Surely, there is some federal law that this POS can be charged with?
It’s the same as hollering “FIRE!” in a crowded theatre when there is no fire.
Surely, they can find something to arrest him with.
It was NOT ‘accidental’
You have to explicitly select the options to do this. It would not be programmed that it was easy to make a mistake.
Think of the way to delete a file on a server- The computer asks “Are you sure?”
In a system like this it would say
“ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO TELL EVERYONE NUCLEAR WAR IS COMING?”
And then in big flashing red lights:
“ARE YOU REALLY REALLY REALLY SURE??????” with bells and alarms.
[OK it is probably not exactly like that, but it would be equally hard]
Like being a government employee who totally screws the pooch makes you eligible for HIPAA protection.
Which will probably be next on the agenda as pressure escalates against this idiot. He/she will check into some sort of "rehab" clinic, and the whole matter will fall under medical privacy protection.
another conspiracy theory is born. the dude told 1.5 million people that they were about to die, FFS. he’s not refusing to cooperate, he’s looking for a lawyer.
Exactly! It is therefore ridiculous for them to keep claiming that it “was sent in error.”
you’re assuming that the government for one of the most liberal states in the union does things sensibly, which is sort of a massive leap of faith.
I will but dang, I’m growing weary of the juvenile behavior.
Very good point imho.
If it is an innocent mistake, or not, the system design lacks safeguards and rescind procedures and protocols. If not, whoever pushed the button could always claim that it was. So the guy’s cooperation is in fact irrelevant for the future, and the past is past. Maybe reassign him or her as another procedural safeguard.
I thought it was done by the good guys because the nsa has data in Hawaii and it gets automatically sent back to the USA if Hawaii is under attack. So thats what they did . It happened in Japan the next day also. I dont know where I read it , but it sort of makes sense because theres still a lot of Obamas people left in the way.
"This was no boating accident."
This story does not ring true or plausible to me. We know the CIA deliberately and regularly offers bogus explanations for various media reports.
If this was a real person, their name and photo would have been plastered all over the news, and he would have been taken into temporary custody.
I find alternate explanations of why this happened to be far more plausible than this report of one unnamed, uncooperative person in charge of “pushing a button”.
Doesn’t an employee of government have to cooperate? Or what, are we going to put this person on paid leave for the next 100 years, this is nuts.
