Thousands of FBI-issued phones had glitch that failed to save texts
CBS "News" ^ | January 24, 2018 | by Paula Reid

Thousands of FBI-issued Samsung 5 phones had technical issues that resulted in a failure to store text messages over a period of a year between June 2016 and May 2017, CBS News' Paula Reid reports, citing a senior Justice Department official.

The news comes after the DOJ confirmed it is missing texts between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the former lawyers on special counsel Robert Mueller's team who came under fire for texts critical of President Trump. The DOJ has been unable to retrieve their texts over a five-month period after the election.

While the focus is on the data lapse during FBI investigations into Russian intervention in the election and the FBI's investigation of Hillary Clinton's email server, this also means the FBI is missing possible data about corruption, sensitive cases and other important matters.

It is funny that they never lose any of their alleged anti Trump and Company evidence or communications.

Yesterday, they had no comment when asked about that. It took a while to destroy the data. They are probably destroying evidence at this second.

Now it’s suddenly newsworthy....

The FBI was looking for a way to spin it. Kinda unlike CBS instant reporting of any salacious about the Trump administration.

“Any Text that was sent is stored on at least two servers.”

Absolutely correct. The idea that retrieving texts sent within the last year depends on the phone is absolutely ridiculous. They could incinerate the phones and it would not matter. Yet here we have MSM forwarding this BS. It just sickens me.

Don’t you think that the part of the agency concerned with records retention compliance would have noticed this in the FIRST DAY WEEK OR MONTH of the occurrence. If not then FIRE THE IDIOT WHO HEADS THAT GROUP AG SESSIONS OR ROSENSTEIN OR FBI DIRECTOR WRAY. Because if you don’t the population of the USA will know that there is justice for the common people that is much harsher than the “JUSTICE” for the justice department. If any private sector employee lost six months of records for 10% of their workers, customers or patients they would be walked out immediately.

Right. And that’s why they are now using Walmart gift cards to purchase and illegally use burner phones...

I wonder if it’s true that IG Horowitz had already requested and received the supposedly never-saved text messages in question.

WOW They needed a cover story for missing texts of many, many phones it sounds like. How many corrupt FBI agents are there? Sounds like there are far more texts of other FBI agents we need to know about. This is crazy.

They were required to keep them, when they discovered the “glitch” did they report it? Were they fixed? Any “glitch” that continues for a year is not a glitch.

Only Samsung phones?

I seem to remember something in the Snowden drop about Samsung smart TVs, even if they’re off, being able to spy on you. (CIA?)

Trump admin just recommended a tariff on Samsung.

All related? (or was Q just weirded me out? LOL.)
