But the day, currently forecast for April 12, has been creeping closer...Residents of the city of 4 million will then be forced to collect a daily water ration of just 25 liters (6.6 U.S. gallons) from 200 water collection points...Reservoirs around Cape Town, in the grip of its worst drought for a century, have gone largely unreplenished for more than three years in the absence of significant rainfall and are about to run dry.

What a wonderful thing it is that the black guest workers deposed the white South Africans, who built the country, and established social justice.

I wonder if you can drink social justice.

With no running water to keep the sewage system operational, Cape Town will literally become a s___hole.

Seems like I recall when the African Nationalists took over Rhodesia and the white farmer’s land, they ran the pumps that brought water from the underground aquifers until the motors broke and then left the fields to lie fallow because no one either knew how, or cared to repair the motors.

Pretty good chance some of that kind of thing has gone on with the change of government in South Africa.

Much like having Jerry Brown in charge in California—creating a water shortage that didn’t need to happen simply because of poor planning and policies.

All that shower water is going into the sewer when it could be saved to flush toilets or water their precious golf courses.

Guess they haven’t bothered looking outside to see all that water around them. Helloooo, desalinate. Go for a swim bath in the ocean. Apparently they haven’t heard of drilling wells. Surprised they haven’t relied on the old stand by of killing all the white folk to get what they want.

Serves them right for Apartheid. Should have given the existing blacks full citizenship and then closed the borders and only accepted new immigrants from Europe. Apartheid was evil, racist, and wrong.

So "they" should have "given" the "existing blacks" full citizenship? And then "they" should have made sure no more blacks moved in?

And you say apartheid was evil, racist and wrong...

I have no sympathy for the racist kleptocracy that is today's Republic of South Africa.

I’ve never been to South Africa, but I have been to many other countries - where I find the media lies very badly.

No doubt they are probably experiencing a “drought,” but is that just a convenient excuse for extreme mismanagement?

Those well and irrigation pumps and motors might as well have been interplanetary drives to the intellects now owning the land in Zim after it was redistributed.

What lies are the media telling about South Africa? I’m sure there must be some, but I can’t call to mind what they are.

“Should have given the existing blacks full citizenship”

Those “existing blacks” were guest workers from neighboring countries, not aborigines with an ancestral claim to the land.

The white South Africans knew what would happen if these “people” were given a voice in government. They knew, while we have forgotten, that the slave does not dream of freedom—he dreams of becoming a master.

Just try to fight clear of the fake news and compare South Africa then and now. Then put together an argument that handing the country to these guest workers was a good thing to do.

How are they going to desalinate?
they routinely have black outs already because the power infrastructure was run into the ground and all the white power plant engineers have been replaced in the name of social justice.

Re: No doubt they are probably experiencing a “drought,” but is that just a convenient excuse for extreme mismanagement?

Exactly.

The other Third World excuse is usually “famine,” which is, of course, “caused” by “unpreventable” droughts.

“Drought,” of course, has been caused by evil white people, who have deliberately created Global Warming to kill off non-white people.

For instance, North Korea, which is described by the MSM as a “reclusive” country, has apparently been experiencing drought and famine for the last 75 years!

On the other hand, no capitalist country in the world has experienced a famine since the 19th Century.
