Well-known multinational companies are lining up to be allowed to buy Tesla's new electric truck.
It's been two months since Tesla presented its Semi electric truck. Tesla Semi promises to have 500 miles of range at maximum weight and should cost about 150,000 USD. There was a big skepticism before the unveiling of this electric truck, but obviously Tesla has been able to dispel a lot of distrust because the orders are flowing smoothly.
Tesla doesn't release any figures of how many orders it has received. However, the companies that sign an order form obviously want to advertise it and let the world know that they are going green.

Tesla may have some problems, but a shortage of enthusiastic customers isn’t one of them.
I don’t think the numerous highly efficient natural gas power plants that have sprung up in the last two decades look anything like that.
For the record: if this represents success through technological innovation then I have no problem with it.
Green, per se, is a good thing. I hate to waste, as do all Conservatives (I hope all y’all are OK for me speaking for us that way).
If Tesla trucks are more efficient and better for the planet — cool.
It is when liberals tell ME exactly how I will be “green” and what tradeoffs I will make and even if the dicta are even efficient that my powder gets pulled out.
A don’t forget 2/3s of the available power is LOST in transmission to the home!
Owner operators of diesel engine trucks hot seat so the truck is rolling down the road almost 24/7. EVs may be ok where you can recharge (I bet it takes longer than pumping 250 gallons of fuel) every night, but I cant see it being feasible for over the road trucking unless you have batteries that swap out for a charged one so you can keep your load rolling down the road.
Time is $$$
This is green washing by these corps. Telsa is obviously a brand a lot of companies want to be associated with. I doubt it makes economic sense.
2 Questions:
How much do semi’s typically cost?
How much is the govt (you and me) subsidizing the cost of the tesla?
Pepsico, my employer, ordered 100. I guess that’s where my corporate tax cut bonus money went.
Never did find out the empty weight of the Tesla Semi, so performance at GVW doesn’t mean a whole lot if the net cargo weight is too low.

You can still get in on the gravy. Invest in extension cords.
Are these trucks long haul or short.. Must have some really big batteries..
Figure at least $200K for a brand new semi. More if bells and whistles needed. Used for $50K less if in good shape.
But here in Gnu Yak Prince Andrew of Cuomo deemed no gas. Just solar and windmills. Got my gas bill today, with trillions of cubic feet of gas under our feet we can’t use it because he is running as a commie for President.
