Haiti an idyllic paradise? (VACATION TIME! WOO HOO! NOT!)

Once again we are witness to a panoply of feigned insult typically associated with morally opprobrious Democrats who are enjoined by those Republicans who are eager not to be “out stupided” by liberals. I’m speaking of the ridiculous outcries over President Trump, allegedly calling Haiti and African nations a “s—hole.”

Haiti may be beautiful in certain specific tourist areas, but don’t be fooled; it is still a Third World country with all of the attributes of same.

A friend forwarded me the following a few days prior to publication of this commentary. He wrote: “[My wife] and I have been on short term mission trips to Haiti from 2010 to 2016. We were with one of the first relief teams to arrive in Haiti shortly after the earthquake. We then went six consecutive years eventually leading other teams to Haiti until I hurt my back in 2016. One of the comments on our first arrival to Haiti was that it didn’t look much different before the earthquake.” Does that sound like an idyllic wonderland even before the massive earthquake?

Oh, relying on first hand accounts told by an un-named source huh? If you were a lib, this would be swallowed hook, line and sinker. Apparently the clintoon crime foundation found it worthy. Right? ;-)

If you can notice a difference from Norway, you must be a racist (according to the Newspeak definition).

I vaguely recall a parody travel ad for Haiti on the National Lampoon comedy album RADIO DINNER.

That goes back to the 70s!

Yes, I’m OLD!

There is a small picnic area in Haiti carved out and maintained by (Evil) Cruise Ship Corporations purely out of a desire to help the Haitian people. Thy could very easily skip Haiti altogether but they don’t; they bring passengers there to help people.
Around the area, which is about a square mile, they have constructed a berm which is about fifty feet high. I asked the guide what was on the other side of the berm. He said “Men with machine guns ready to kill bandits who will run over the berm and rob and kill people if we didn’t have the men with machine guns there.”

I have been in Haiti (on a mission trip), but not to Norway. Still, I’m pretty sure they don’t smell the same.
Conan O’Liberal went to the few parts of the country that are sanitized and cleaned up for tourists, no trash floating or animals wading in the same water people wash their clothes in and drink from. It is so phony that they have a cruise ship destination there, so people can say they’ve been in “Haiti”, yeah right.

I really feel bad for the Haitian people, as they got fleeced by the Clinton Foundation, and after a horrible earthquake and multiple hurricanes they needed help. On top of that, they’ve had to deal with political corruption that is amongst the worst in the world. People are people, and children down there also suffer.

There are multiple ways Haiti could increase its socioeconomic status, and offer a much better life for their people. I know many very, very bright Haitians, and they go down to Haiti to help, but it’s a tough battle. It’s very hard to fight political corruption (as we are seeing in the US right now), but maybe one step would be for expatriated successful educated Haitians to run for political office in Haiti. That’s a lot to ask, however, for those who’ve built better lives for their families.

We are looking for a 🚢 cruise to take our adult children/spouses on. I thought I had found one that fit our criteria. When I looked at the itinerary it included a port in Haiti, on their “private” island 🌴. No thanks.

Sadly, as in most 3rd world places (aka, sh**hole) the connected elite don’t seem to have it too bad. And the peons continue to suffer.

A cruise ship stop at a private island off the coast of Haiti would just be a nice beach day. The big cruise lines have such islands (cays or keys) in the Caribbean, where they are the only folks there - safe and clean, fine to let the kids run loose.
