A black law professor argues that African Americans should embrace the notion that being black in America is a disability as a new legal strategy toward enacting protections for the black community against unconscious bias, stereotyping and structural inequality.
Kimani Paul-Emile, an associate professor of law at Fordham University and associate director of its law school’s Center on Race, Law & Justice, argues that while Africans Americans might initially spurn the “blackness as disability” label, it can actually be a wise courtroom plan.
The Americans with Disabilities Act defines “disability” as “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities of such individual.”
“Blackness, of course, is not, by itself, an impairment,” Paul-Emile writes.
Paul-Emile listed many reasons for black peoples’ perceived disabilities, including “facing increased likelihood, relative to Whites, of living in poverty, attending failing schools, experiencing discrimination in housing, being denied a job interview, being stopped by the police, being killed during a routine police encounter, receiving inferior medical care, living in substandard conditions and in dangerous and/or polluted environments, being un- or underemployed, receiving longer prison sentences, and having a lower life expectancy.”

There is a noticeable difference between people who have immigrated from the various countries in Africa compared to blacks born in the USA.....I'll take the immigrant attitude any day of the week.

There are 8 times as many white people, as black but...
nearly 45% of Welfare families are black. You always hear “there are more whites on welfare than blacks”, which is true, but not 8 times as many. That would be a fair comparison.
So... nearly half of all Black families are on welfare.
Government employees are over 1/3 black. Some places are 75% black employees.
Black people are 1/8th of the population, but are nearly 1/2 of all Welfare, sitting on their asses.
And have over 1/3 of all government jobs.
All being paid for by working white families.
Who are the slaves now?

Given that there are five times as many Caucasians in the US as there are Blacks, and given that the Black crime-rate is ten times that of the Caucasian crime rate, there should be twice as many Blacks killed by police as Caucasians.
The reality is that there are only half as many Blacks killed by police. One-fourth as many as there should be statistically.
Cops actually treat Black criminals with kid gloves. THAT is the problem. It hurts the Black victims of Black crime, as well.
But maybe cops never shoot anyone in Ghana.

Watch Judge Judy. A whole bunch of People who show up are Black and a number of them seem to be on SS Disability.

Oh yeah, there is never a Cane, Walker or Wheelchair in sight. Good old Judge Judy always asks them what their Disability is and they always have a Deer in Headlights look for a second or two before answering.
Of course that is just an observation. I DVR the Show and when I need a laugh I watch it, especially since two of it’s biggest Sponsors are SS Disability Lawyer Dr. Phil LaTour (who is also a Psychologist, wink wink) and my favorite, Ambulance chasing Lawyer (I’ll fight for you) Larry H. Parker.
Affirmative Action law has designated minorities as inferior and the hammers of the federal government will force you to bend your knee to let minorities ahead of you in line. I don’t believe this in the least. The law is wrong.

While I wouldn’t wish a physical disability on anyone, she ought to feel what it’s like and to see how the rest of the world (consciously or unconsciously) regards disabled people. Then she would see how utterly idiotic her assertion really is.
