The United Nations has allowed sexual harassment and assault to flourish in its offices around the world, with accusers ignored and perpetrators free to act with impunity, the Guardian has been told.
Dozens of current and former UN employees described a culture of silence across the organisation and a flawed grievance system that is stacked against victims.
Of the employees interviewed, 15 said they had experienced or reported sexual harassment or assault within the past five years. The alleged offences ranged from verbal harassment to rape.
Seven of the women had formally reported what happened, a route that campaigners say is rarely pursued by victims for fear of losing their job, or in the belief that no action will be taken...

From the article: “The UN has long been criticised over its failure to properly investigate reports of sexual abuse and exploitation by its peacekeeping forces against local people, not least in Central African Republic and Haiti. Campaigners point to a culture of impunity in UN offices, with accusers routinely silenced.”
Any surprise freepers ?
They’ve been abusing children for decades
F the UN
I’ve been wondering when it would be time to take down the UN on this !!
Maybe they have lots of people from sh!t hole countries, who believe it is their right to do this.
I swear I read that as assault rifle.
They are FULL of “self hatred”. Then projecting it on others.
You are a cat person. Were you born on the Island of Doctor Moreau?
That’s just one of the fringe benefits of working for the UN.
Arab and African diplomats, hands down.
Because thats how they treat explouted women back home in those s-hole societies. Any wagers?
Noooooooo, say it ain’t so!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have 3rd world despots and their handpicked representatives, from some of the most 3rd world locations on the planet, where they can do whatever they want, whenever they want. What difference does it make if it takes place in Manhattan or anyplace else in the world.
They get some staff member, also from the same 3rd world sh*tholes, living a decent life in NYC. If he/she wants to maintain that life, instead of having to wash their clothes in the nearby river, what are their choices?
They are no different than any other power hungry person that has no problem abusing that power.
Caption” “$hit Draws Flies!”
I don’t even know the definition anymore. Frankly, if you’re in fear of grievous bodily injury or harm, take appropriate action and STFU. Are we equal or not??
HMMMmmm...
True. And from friends of mine that were Marines and did Embassy rotations, the US Diplomatic Corps is no stranger to taking advantage of that policy.
Diplomatic immunity is a status granted to diplomatic personnel that exempts them from the laws of a foreign jurisdiction
But.....
That’s exactly what it is, a policy. They can prosecute whoever they want, but they don’t because it’ll make it impossible for the US to do their business overseas, otherwise. It’s no different than people saying that an embassy or consulate are, sovereign land of the country. At any given time, the host nation can kick out every single person in that embassy and take it. And there isn’t a darn thing anyone can do.
It’s a form of, detente, that makes sure their guy isn’t detained or jailed, because we don’t want our guy detained or jailed.
2014 .... Diplomats owed NYC, $16,000,000.00 for unpaid parking tickets.
we did 3 tours on embassy guard duties, and the US diplomats just suck out loud. What arrogant, entitled people and talk about “the rules” don’t apply to them!
The third world in a first world building. I lived down the street from the UN (44th St.) for about 10 years. The stories that came out about staff abuse was ongoing - including writing reports for every typo made by a typist and then using it to cut paychecks. My apt. building was loaded with their workers. One was a third-world homo who had nightly orgies. Close it down!
