Well that is always the real issue, we don’t want LE to shoot first and ask questions later, and kill people who were no threat. By the same token I do not want LE to hesitate when the threat is real and be killed either. Very difficult to balance those two issues.

They already do, and they wonder why people are losing trust and respect in them. They've operated on the us vs. them mentality for a long time, and thanks to the digital age, we can all find out about it. No matter the circumstances, they circle the wagons around their own. Cop outright murders someone? Well, certainly he had a reason.
How about the guy that murdered a man with his own rifle? He may have been fired, but he didn't get any jail. He was found not guilty. Really?
They already have, and they have killed innocent citizens as a result.
