House Republican leaders presented their rank and file with a one-month spending bill Tuesday aimed at keeping the government open ahead of a Friday night deadline, as hopes for a deal on young undocumented immigrants faded.
The bill would extend existing spending levels through Feb. 16 and include an extension of a popular childrens health insurance program aimed at winning Democratic votes and a new sweetener for conservatives and Democrats alike in delaying several taxes included in the Affordable Care Act. Few lawmakers were enthusiastic about the legislation, but several described it as a necessary evil to avoid the first government shutdown since 2013.

Aaaargh.
Fedzilla does NOT shut down.
Ever.
Dammit.
I expect everyone of those RINOs to get primaried. I expect you and every other patriot to vote against them in the primary. We will discuss the general election WHEN WE GET TO IT.
They got what they wanted already - a cushy job, good hours, and a seat at the bar.
That is who we are going to get if we fire them.
Please define what "firing them" means to you.
Ever hear of something called a "primary"?
Uncontrolled auto-spend on our grandkids credit card.
VETO!
But, unlike the previous hate-America/Veterans preResident, leave the "open air" Veterans Memorials open!
People THINK the problem is that unless you get 60 Senate votes it will not pass because of a filibuster. The REAL problem is that Republicans accept the millineal version of a filibuster; where it is threatened and everyone throws their hands up in defeat.
Make someone stand and talk to postpone the vote or just go ahead and vote. The first time we do this no one will even bother to stand and the Democrats will be outraged (same as every day...so what). The next time they will have someone stand and talk for a day...until they stop and then we vote. SO WHAT if they get news coverage. Itll go for. While and then we vote and it passes. By the 10th time people will get bored.
I dont see why you are preferencing essential employees. Shut it down, all of it.
Already with the WHITE FLAG?!?!?!??
Instead of “Spending Bills” they need to start passing “Cutting Bills”
There is no reason for back pay unless they stay on the job. I support back pay if they come in anyway but if they just stay home then we get no work out of them and they do not deserve back pay. This is only fair to the tax payer.
How about a 1-month spending bill that includes: 1) full funding of the wall 2) Elimination of Chain Migration 3) Elimination of Immigration Lottery 4) Mandated use of E-verify for all employment in the USA?
I could support that Continuing Resolution. Then we can talk about the annual budget and how DACA fits in next month.
