As most readers are aware the current wagon-circling Clinton defense strategy (to avoid the toxic legal ebola present through the Christopher Steele dossier contagion) is to claim Team Clinton was duped by a Russian disinformation campaign.
This approach attempts to create distance between: Clinton and Fusion-GPS; the intensely false political intelligence assertions within the Steele Dossier; the DOJ/FBI using the dossier as underlying evidence to gain FISA approval; and the outcome of the FBI spying operation on the Trump campaign in 2016.
Unfortunately for them, as we have pointed out, Hillary Clinton -writ large- cannot say they were duped by an intelligence dossier they created themselves. This is their dossier problem. However, that said, heres the New York Times trying to assist that hoodwinked narrative though the use of the false Michael Cohen story.

This is so delicious! Less than a year ago they thought Trump would be put down by this fake scandal. Now they have to put up this pathetic excuse to save themselves.
With the FBI and the Justice Department working in concert with their various forms, it is like check kiting in the banking world.

That rascal Trump. He cajoled Putin into telling whoppers to the Clintons.
The Clintons will go down. Whether to a criminal rap or to the derision of lefties mockingly throwing them under the bus for a lie so stupid it wouldn’t even fly on CNN, I don’t know
It is the 15th.

It's amazing how "moron" Trump, while watching the Gorilla Channel nonstop, can come up with such a fiendish scheme !
Those gorillas.
If what Sundance writes and believes regarding how the Michael Cohen trip to Prague came to be in the dossier turns out to be true, it will in fact be a smoking gun. It is like possessing a marked bill from a bank robbery. If it turns out to be true, then this is so much a bigger US political corruption than any other story of our lifetime, easy.
Bad link. Points to wrong article from a week ago.
Treehouse makes a very strong case here that information gathered by the US government was used to create the Steele dossier. Unfortunately however, the US is not the only surveillance game in town, and supposedly Russians were involved in putting the Steele dossier together as well.
I'll still rate Treehouse's supposition as likely, however, and there's no reason why Cohen etc shouldn't use it as a public talking point until the trial. Of course it's likely that Fusion GPS will testify that "the Russians did it" although that could prove risky if they didn't.
