So what? They won’t be missed. It shows only what sore losers they are and that they have no concern for what is best for this country.
Maybe they’re staying away because they’ve recruited someone to fly a jetliner into the Capital Building.

President Trump should then fill all their seats with members of the Military and law enforcement.
How childish are democrats? Our tax money is paying for these people to act like cry babies? Can we get these politicians’ pay changed from salary to hourly? Don’t show up = don’t get paid.
If Democrats shut down the government, President Trump should cancel the State of the Union in Congress. He can give it to the American people from the White House.
And Faux News helps them out by getting the message out there.

Excellent precedent. Hopefully all democrats will boycott. Then, the next time there is a dem president, all republicans can boycott him (or her or it or they or whatever as the case may be). We can all quit pretending that we don’t absolutely despise each other. Should actually improve the national discourse if we just start shooting and quit talking altogether.

What about Sheila Jackass Lee? For years, she would grab an aisle seat so that she could glad-hand the then current President, Republican or Democrat, as he walked down the aisle.
I hope they do, all of them.
Less smell of sulfur would make the SOTU much more pleasant to attend.

I’m betting that our President will be pleased if they do shut it down, because I believe he has already figured out how to turn their gross stupidity to his advantage BIGLY!

Then he should list the successes but refer to the empty seats please more than once would be great!
The best way to counter this is to use the empty seats as a prop to illustrate the Democrat’s lack of leadership. Beat them over the head repeatedly with the empty seats.
