Looks like we may be heading into the next weekend without a budget deal - potential Gov’t shutdown, no wall funding, no DACA deal.

Ramping up the heat all around, with the politicians placing their bets on what they think will help them in the November elections, rather than what is good for the country.

He's right - what they want has nothing to do with the DACA recipients - they just want to use them for their own ends. If the issue were really resolved, they could no longer be used. The last thing the Democrats would want is full border security and the DACA recipients being required to learn English and become more prosperous and productive (with no further chain migration) - because *gasp* many of them would no longer need government assistance and become self sufficient, and they could not be used to flood the voter roles with more people who need government assistance. Resolving this matter in the best possible way for both the country as a whole and the "Dreamers" themselves is the very last thing the Democrats would ever want to happen.

So let's do it without them.

President Trump: DACA Deal “Probably Dead” – Democrats Link Amnesty To Budget…

Congressional Democrats have staked out a position of shutting down the government if they do not get a DACA amnesty deal.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was the Obama “executive action” that deferred deportation of illegal aliens placing them in a suspended status awaiting immigration legislation. DACA applied to ‘childhood arrivals‘.

DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans) applied to their parents and families. DAPA was determined by Federal Courts, including SCOTUS, to be unconstitutional.

A court challenge on DACA would likely find the same legal outcome as DAPA. Unable to defend DACA in court, President Trump gave congress six months to negotiate legislation to address the underlying issue prior to enforcement of existing law (deportation). The Democrat “fix” is to grant immigration amnesty to the DACA recipients.

A judge put an injunction in place against Trump’s order to end DACA and Immigration says DACA applications will continue to be accepted.
